Wintery Heirloom update

This is my most current picture of my Wintery Heirloom update. There isn't much to show really. There is only about 200 more stitches in this picture than the last picture. Thank you so much for all the comments on my previous post. The threads are very easy to work with once you get the hang of it. If you haven't tried it ...you should. It is realy easy however, the strings can drive you nuts while you are learning to use the process.

This is so great already! I think I also have to past first the "driving you nuts" phase too :)

LOL I've seen other stitcher's use the parking method too, and everyone swears that it is great. I'm afraid that I'd wind up with a huge tangled mess.

Do you work on a large frame, so that the threads are continually hanging downward?

It would be interesting to see someone use this method in person. You must have SO much patience!

I would also love to see this in person. That many strings makes me want to panic!! I'm so impressed that you can do this!

I don't think I've ever actually "seen" anybody but myself do this. Thanks Vickie, for letting me know there are others who use this method as well. I have another BAP that I'm doing now like this. The only reason I didn't use it on my HAED is because it's a bookmark I put on a small hoop, and it's just not big enough to have all those threads in the way. Although I do hang one off the side once in a while if it's still a really long thread. Hang in there ladies, once you get through that panic stage it really is a good way to work! I bag my project every time I quit working on it, just flatten all the threads and fold (or roll) neatly.
