I know I've been MIA for quite some time. Some of you may remember that my boyfriend was in a bad car accident last April. He is actually still in the hospital. We've been trying to get him into rehab but everyone says he is still not ready. He is awake now and does remember everything before the accident, but he cannot talk and mostly communicates by nodding his head yes and no. So I have not stitched hardly at all since then, but picked it up last weekend so I will be back on here with an update soon. I'm just now catching up on all of the great progress! Glad to see so much activity on here!

Wrath - August 23, 2010
I finally finished page 10 of Wrath. I have not stitched at all since my OH's accident nearly 4 months ago. For those that don't know, my OH was in a car accident and suffered a severe brain injury. He is still in the hospital and has made slow improvements. The prognosis has never been good but he is still improving more than the doctors thought so I hope he continues down that path. I recently just picked up my stitching again last week. It's helped to get my mind off of what has happened. Here's page 10, I didn't get a pic of the whole thing because I took it with my iphone and didn't realize I had it upside down until much later..so pic of the whole thing will be coming after I finish the next page.

No updates for awhile
I probably will not be having any updates for awhile because my boyfriend was involved in a really horrible car accident 2 weeks ago. He is currently still in the ICU with a head injury and has not woken up yet. He likely will have a long road to recovery. He really can use all the prayers and well wishes that are out there so please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. This group has always been so supportive of me and just wanted to let you all know why I won't be around as much.
Anyone interested in seeing how he is doing or just learning about him in general can check out the facebook group - Chad Robert Smith Support Group.
Thank you everyone

Wrath - Page 8 Complete
Hi everyone! Well I am still alive and am still stitching! I went through this funk for about 2 and half months where I just did not feel like stitching at all. Then my stitching bug finally came back and I have finally finished page 8 of Wrath! So here's a close up of page 8 and a pic of the whole thing!

Chessie - Page 2 Complete
After more than a year of working on this one, I finally finished page 2. I don't work on Chessie that often, just here and there, but I decided to finally get all of those confetti stitches done. I probably will go back to Wrath for now but Chessie will come back again soon.
Here's where I left off:

Wrath - First Row Completed!!
I'm very proud to say that I have completed the first row of pages (pages 1 through 7) of Wrath and I finished on New Year's Eve! I must say it is coming out lovely and it's making me want to stitch her even more!
Here's where I left off last time:
And this is the first row completed:

And a close up of pages 6 and 7:

Not sure what the new Year will bring but I do hope to finish at least another row of Wrath and then I also plan on doing a few pages each of Catch a Falling Star and Chessie and then maybe a new start later on in the year!

Another First HAED!
I love the stories about everyone's first HAED's which reminds me a lot of my first HAED which was Chessie (and still is since he's not even close to being done!). I used to stitch a long time ago after I broke my ankle. It gave me something to do so I wasn't just stuck sitting in bed all day long. I soon discovered that I really loved it, but then I lost my stitching bug for a really long time. It was around September of 2008 that I discovered the best cross stitching forum that I still frequent to this day. They really inspired me to start stitching again and pretty soon I discovered the HAED website. I browsed through nearly every single design before coming across Chessie and he just made me smile because he was so bright and goofy looking. I bought the chart at the end of Septemeber and kept telling myself I would start him except I had never stitched anything that wasn't a kit. I was a bit afraid to buy 25ct fabric so I settled on a 22ct evenweave, bought all the threads and started stitching right before christmas! By New Year's day I was so aggravated by the fabric that I made the OH take me to Michael's so I could buy some 18ct aida. And Chessie was restarted on January 2nd. Unfortunately I haven't made as much progress on him as I would like. I quickly learned what confetti stitches were and boy did that set me back! But as I was coming to the end of 2009 and of course reading all your lovely stories, I've decided to bring Chessie back out! I look forward to showing all of you his goofy smile one day!
Happy New Year's to you all!

Wrath - Page 5 Complete
Finished page 5 of Wrath last night! Those last 100 stitches took me over 2 hours to do because of the confetti stitches in there but the next 2 pages are mostly just black so I am hoping to zoom through those so I can have the first row down by the end of the year!

Wrath - Page 4 Complete
I've finished page 4 of Wrath and in just under 2 months of working on this. I'm really hoping I can finish the next 3 pages by Christmas and then the first row will be complete. I really enjoy working on this and it's the most I've ever finished on any project so I am very proud of it!!

Wrath - Page 3 Complete!
Hi everyone! Not sure how I did this, but I finished page 3 in only 10 days. It had a lot of color changes again but I think I am just enjoying stitching this so much that I've been finding myself stitching for a couple hours every night before bed. On the bottom of the page you can see some of her forehead and even part of her eyebrow! I got all excited when the picture jumped out at me...so now I am onto page 4!

Wrath - Page 2 Complete!
Hi everyone! Well I finally finished page 2 last night! I was making record speed on this until I hit that piece of her hair and then it was about 45 different color changes and it felt like I was just stitching 1 or 2 stitches and then having to switch colors. I also noticed that the dark purple I used in part of page 1 is slightly different in shade (meaning the dye lot is different) than the purple used in the rest of page 1 and in page 2. It's noticeable but not horrible looking.. I decided to go ahead and leave it for now since it is just background and in the grand scheme of things, it probably won't be too terribly noticeable. You can kinda see it in the picture...
Anyways, here's where I was last time:

Wrath - 2nd update
Hi everyone! Well I have made terrific progress on Wrath. I finished page 1 and have started page 2 and I've only been working on this for 2 and a half weeks. I don't think I've ever stitched that fast before. Of course page 1 was mostly the same color. You can't really tell from these pictures but it's actually dark purple. Page 2 is a lot more confetti heavy so will likely take me longer but regardless, I am absolutely loving stitching this one!
Here's where I was last time:
And this is where I stopped last night:

As always, I look forward to all of the updates and welcome to all the new buddies that have joined us! I am so excited to see even more stitched up HAED's!

Wrath - 1st update
Hi everyone! As some of you may know, I was waiting for HAED to chart Marta Dahlig's seven deadly sins series and they put them out about a week and a half ago and of course I had to snag Wrath up right away and have made a pretty good dent in it so far. Here's a link to what it will look like:
http://www.heavenandearthdesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=5088&zenid=88a985300db2772a8e34b54b44e16ac8
And this is where I am at so far which comes out to just under half a page. I am doing this on 18ct aida with 3 strands over 1. This picture came out a bit on the dark side. There is actually quite a lot of dark purple in this but page 1 is mostly background with large chunks of the same color so it's moving along really quickly!

Chessie Update
Hi Everyone! Sorry for such a long delay in updating. I've been working on Chessie for the past month and boy it's taking me a long time to finish page 2. I am almost finished though and I just am filling in the tons of confetti stitches.
Here's where I was last time:

I am probably going to set this one aside for awhile as I am going to be starting Wrath by Marta Dahlig soon. I was waiting forever for her stuff to be charted and pretty much snatched that chart up as soon as it was. Just waiting for the supplies and I will be stitching her very soon!
Great job on all the progress everyone has made! I love seeing HAED's come to life!

Chessie Update
Hi Everyone! Well this past week was my birthday and my OH was very kind to get me a gift certificate to Michael's and so I will probably use it to buy supplies for a new project at some point. In the meantime, I decided to pick up Chessie again and to my surprise, I am really enjoying stitching it again. It has a ton of color changes but I really managed to get a lot done over the past week or so.
Here's where I left on Chessie back in January which was all of page 1:
This is what I did of page 2 since July 31st:
And this is a pic of the what the whole thing looks like right now:
Kinda looks like a lot of random stitches. The moon in the top right corner has 20 different colors in it so I was just switching a lot between colors and then going back to some of the purples. In the bottom right corner that little patch of blue is the start of the actual cat so by page 3 we should start to see Chessie appear! Hopefully it will be soon since I have decided to go ahead and keep stitching Chessie for awhile.

Catch A Falling Star - July 27, 2009
Hi Everyone! Well another week has gone by and glad to say that I got a lot done again this week. I managed to get about 2,000 more stitches this week and am pretty close to finishing page 2 which I think will be done by the end of this week. I had set a goal of finishing the first 7 pages by the end of the year and as of now, I am a little ahead of schedule so that makes me really happy!
Here is my progress from last week:

Catch A Falling Star - July 18, 2009
Hi Everyone! Well I did it! I finally finished page 1 and I even started page 2 and got 20 rows in so this was a really productive week for me. It's not all that exciting to see right now though since the first 7 pages are basically just one color but progress is progress I suppose.
Here's where I was last week:

Here's to another productive week of stitching! Hope all is well with everyone and look forward to all those progress pics!

Catch a Falling Star Update
I finally got some time to work on this and I am still not done with page 1. Only about 5 more rows to go! I decided to fill in the stars to get a break from all the dark navy blue I've been stitching lately.

4th of July :)
Well I won't have an update on Catch a Falling Star this week because I haven't had any chance to stitch and I am going out of town for the 4th of July holiday. The OH and I are going camping in New Mexico and neither one of us has been there before so it should be fun. The weather is supposed to be nice and sunny too! I am hoping to get quite a bit of stitching in over the next week though once I get back.
However, since I have no update on Catch a Falling Star, I thought I would show you my other HAED I started at the beginning of the year. This is Chessie by Ash Evans. I've finished the first page and that was wayyyyy back in January when I finished and then I lost the stitching bug for a few months and haven't stitched on it since. I do plan to start working on it for one week every month starting in August. There is a lot of color changes and it tends to drive me a little crazy at times but I just adore the chart!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! :)

Catch a Falling Star June 26, 2009
Well I haven't had the most time to stitch this past week since the OH and I are sharing one car to get to work and most mornings we have been getting up at 3am which makes me unbearably tired in the evenings. I did get some stitching in last weekend and a little last night but still haven't finished page 1. I only have 19 more rows of the dark navy blue to go and then need to fill in the stars and then it's on to page 2.
Kerri :)
