Coluring In! A page Finish!

I have been of on Holiday for the last week! The weather has not been nice so I have been Coluring in!

Although I did have to rip out about 600 stitches at the beginning, she was going to be lopsided if I didnt!

Both are Stitched on 18 cnt 2 over 1 with DMC!

I havnt updated in awhile So Large Post ahead!

So I have been working on several charts since my last post, A QS and a FOF and a "Sin"

QS "Spring Explosion Mermaid"

This is for a Gift in December, Still have a few months to go, I'm sure I will make it!

She is Stitched 2 over 1 on 18cnt with DMC.

Second is My FOF 88 I brought this to get over my fear of Stitching Skin! I'm always paranoid that it wont look even!

Its not looking to bad the Eye is amazing! Here is what the finished piece will look like! She is also stitched 2 over 1 with DMC on 18cnt

Lastly I have been Working on "Lust" I have Just finished page 8, I really liked this page, Although I was concerned that her arm was going to look odd, but no, I was wrong, her armed looked perfect!

"Lust" is 2 over 1 on 18cnt as well! With DMC threads.

"Envy" Pgs 14,15 and "Lust"

Hi everyone,

Wow there are some fantastic work out there! Everyones pieces are looking great!

Here is a update on "Envy" and "Lust" I've been off on Holiday this week, and the weather has been bad......So I have had lots of time for stitching.......First I wanted to get Pgs 14 and 15 finished on "Envy"

I moved over to the other side so I could do some Dress and Background! The 3 pages in the Middle are just dress so I wanted a break from that.

Here is how she is looking overall......

I also gave her a quick steam with the Iron, Just to freshened it up and to take out the hoop marks! The ruffle at the bottom is done and looks great IMHO!

When I last worked on "Lust" I stopped midpage.......So I wanted to get that done as well......

I'm excited about the next page as It has Some Arm. Overall I'm happy with how they are both going.

Both are Stitched on 18 count Aida, DMC threads 2 over 1

How to Carry Threads
This is really easy...it takes a while to get used to though....and your back will look terrible...this you will have to live with...One thing...You will be working your 10 x 10 grids in colums...it makes it easier...
1. Start with a 10 x 10 grid..
2. Find your first symbol...and stitch all of that symbol in your 10 x 10 grid....When finished...
3. Find the same symbol on the 10 x 10 grid below it...take your needle and bring your thread up like you are going to make the first 1/2 of the X ...but don't do it...just unthread your needle and lay the thread down..
4. Go back to the first grid you were working on...and stitch the next symbol the same way....when finished bring your thread down....
5. continue each symbol until your first 10 x 10 grid is finished....
6. start the next 10 x 10 grid ....you should have thread there already for you to pick up and stitch...

Tent stitch variants
There are three types of tent stitch, all producing the same appearance on the front of the canvas but each worked in a slightly different way and having particular characteristics, uses, benefits and drawbacks. These variants of tent stitch are known as basketweave, continental and half cross tent stitches:
Basketweave tent stitch - The basketweave form of tent stitch is worked in diagonal rows up and down the canvas. The yarn on the back of the canvas has a typical basketweave appearance, with alternating horizontal and vertical stitches. Basketweave is the best stitch to use for covering large areas of canvas as it does not distort the canvas as the other two forms of tent stitch do.
Continental tent stitch - Continental stitch is worked horizontally or vertically across the canvas. On the back of the work, the stitches appear diagonally across two threads. This method uses more yarn than half cross stitch tent stitch but is more hardwearing.
Half cross tent stitch - Half cross stitch is worked horizontally or vertically across the canvas. On the back of the work, the stitch appears vertical or horizontal, not diagonal, and crosses only one thread. This method uses less yarn than other stitches but is not very durable as coverage on the back of the canvas is a little thin.
