The wizard of Oz

Hi everyone!

Last two months I worked mainly on The wizard of Oz. The rainbow is appearing and it is magical! I really love working on this HAED, but I like working in a rotation as well, so for now The wizard is in a closet for a while.
There was a reaction on my last update about what fabric I use for this work, but I read it so late that I was afraid the writer wouldn't read my response anymore. So I will response now: this is stitched on 18 count aida with 2 threads in full crosses. I don't like working any smaller, then I couldn't stitch on the couch! I tried stitching it with only 1 thread, but I didn't like the coverage, there was a lot of white fabric visible and especially in the darker parts of the picture I really disliked it. So I started again after stitching a almost a page. I haven't regretted it for a single moment!

The wizard of Oz

To everyone a very happy new year! I hope the new year brings you all you need and of course a lot of stitching time!

I worked the last week on The wizard of Oz and I finished the yellow brick road. It was a lot of yellow in all different shades. I was really glad with the little bit of green at the right side, I care for variation. I continue this HAED on the right side above, in the sky and there will soon a rainbow appear. I'm looking forward to it!

Impossible love

Another update on Impossible love. I'm now stitching the mermin and that's really motivating. It's great to see something appear in the clouds.

Train of dreams - Sjoukje

After yet another week of stitching I have a beginning of the locomotive! It's a lot of red and blue, my favorite colours, I really like the brightness. On the right you can see the head of the dragon who is riding the train.
I have stitched 3 pages so far, still enjoying it!

Train of dreams update

I stitched on Train of dreams quite a lot of time again, but I made little progress, I think. I have less time for stitching when I'm at home than during our holiday. There's a lot to do around here. You can see the smoke already, but the locomotive isn't there yet. Maybe next week?

Train of dreams after the holiday

Another update of Train of dreams, during the holidays I did quite a lot! And I still enjoy this piece, so I will continue stitching this, until I feel like doing something else.

Train of dreams!

We're back from our holidays and I had Train of dreams with me. This is a photo of my starting point last week monday in the evening. Tomorrow I will show a photo of the current state of progress, I've done quite a lot. I'm a bit proud of myself, because I had two small kids with me as well and I even managed to read two books.
Now the real life start again, but not really real yet. I've still six weeks summerholidays left, I think there will be plenty time for stitching!

Train of dreams

Hi everyone!
This is my first update on Train of dreams. I started in the other corner than Astrid, just to keep you entertained! ;-)
I really like stitching this work. The colours are beautiful and those who remember my other stitchings know that colours are the most important thing for me.

In the right down corner you can see a small beginning of the train: the lamb. I can't wait to stitch further, so that is what I'm going to do now. I hope my son (8months already!) sleeps for another 30 minutes!

Impossible love

Another update on 'Impossible love', but for me it's very easy to love this work of stitching ;-)
I stitched a lot of wing, but even that colours are beautiful and I enjoy stitching very much. I want to finish these two pages (I glued two pages together, because it worked easier) and then I may work on 'Train of dreams', which I started a few weeks ago. I'll show you a photo of my progress with that in a week or so.

Double update

Hi Everyone! A double update from me this time! I'm busy with Impossible love, which is the picture above this text. This photo was taken on Saturday, it's a bit further already. This one stitches really quickly and that's a nice change compared to The Wizard of Oz.

And here's the Wizard of Oz. It's becoming great, I think, I'm really proud! The persons are visible now, except for the lion, his head isn't stitched yet... That will take some more time.

This month I will work on Impossible love. But I've already bought two other charts, which I love as well: The warmth of home, and Train of Dreams, last one inspired by Astrid.

Wizard news

Finally an update of the Wizard of Oz again. It's great stitching it, I enjoy every moment of it. Because there are a lot of colour changes, there's never a dull moment. But of cours due to all the colour changes it doesn't stitch very fast as well. I can stitch about three rows in a week, there is a slow, but continuous progress...!

Finish!

Yeah! QS Waterlily kimono mermaid is finished! Though it was only a little piece to stitch, I enjoyed it very much, mainly because of the bright colours. She is the second HAED chart I finished, I hope to stitch so many more!

My wips at the moment are 'The wizard of Oz' by Scott Gustafson and "Impossible love" by Selena Fenech. And in my stash are waiting 'Earth angel' by Josephine Wall and 'The warmth of home' by Schim Schimmel. But I also want to stitch 'The astronomer', that awesome too! I have to live another life to stitch all I want to stitch, I'm afraid.

Last WIP photo

Hi everyone!

This will be my last WIP photo, because it's almost finished! Next week you will see the complete picture.

And then, according to my rotation schedule, I can stitch on The wizard of Oz! I'm really looking forward to it, I missed it!

QS Kimono Waterlily Mermaid

At last, a log from me again. Due to my rotation schedule, it was only in March that I could stitch a HAED again. In January I finished a work I promised my mother a long time ago and in Februari I stitched my afghan (Nature's Home), which is becoming beautiful, but isn't finished yet (of course). So, in March it's time for QS Kimono waterlily mermaid and I think she is a finish this month as well. It isn't a big work, only four pages and three of them are partial. It amazes me that a picture with so little stitches is still so beautiful!

Of course I read all your logs and I admired all your photo's. It's lovely to see that there are so many crazy stitchers around the world! Most people who see my work don't get it, why should you stitch?! You understand, that's great!

Dante!

Our son Dante is born! This morning at 6.08 hour, after a delivery which took 4 hours. We both feel well, Dante likes to drink and sleeps well after that. I'm hoping for a good night's rest, I sure can use it.

The wizard of Oz

I finished page 5 of The wizard of Oz and I still like this piece of work. The colours are amazing, the photo doesn't really do justice to this stitching.I started the yellow brick road, so that's a big difference in colour. And please don't think this is boring stitching, because yellow has about twenty variations in colour!

At the moment I'm busy with Impossible Love. That's really diffent stitching and I like the variation. When I've finished page 3 of the piece I will show a photo again.

Stitching becomes more and more complicated. It's difficult to sit in a way that doesn't hurt. My belly is becoming really big, the pregnancy is now almost 38 weeks far, so I'm really curious to when the baby decides to come! And I'm tired of course, but that's a good excuse to do nothing else but stitching!

Three photos!

Three photos at once, I do stitch a lot, but I can hardly manage to blog, I'm really bad... I’m 34 weeks pregnant now and it feels like I’m tired all the time.
I almost finished the second page of Waterlily Mermaid, but I was short of two colours. I ordered them, but only this morning they arrived by mail, over three weeks after ordering! It's becoming beautiful, but to be honest, I think this work is a bit small with only four pages.
The wizard of Oz is fun to stitch. I have a part of Tinman now and the but of lion. It doesn't stitch quicky, but that doesn't matter.

And within a week I stitched the second page of Impossible love. Compared to The wizard of Oz this is quite simple, only little colour changes. I'm looking forward to something else than sky, but of course the clouds are beautiful as well. At the right of the picture I can stitch the wings of the angels. I love the colours, don't you?
I still enjoy reading this blog very much, it's nice to work on this kind of stitch work all together. In my own environment I don't know people who stitch as much as I do, most people admire it, but don't understand it. It's great to meet people who like it so much as well!

Question

What I wanted to ask: is Rachel still participating in this blog? I read one post of hers and she was working on the Wizard of Oz as well, therefore it interests me. Does anybody know, or Rachel, how are you doing?

The wizard of Oz

Hi everbody! I'm back from my holiday, so I can show you some progress on my work. During my holiday I daily checked this blog, because I'm so curious to everybody's work, but I wasn't able to post myself. But now I am!

I'm working on the fourth page and it's going really well. I'm really enthousiastic! I wasn't looking forward to all these branches, but it turns out beautifully. Right on the picture you can see the head of Tinman appearing and underneath the trunk I'm stitching the hat of the mum of the lovely family already on the picture. Of this page I still must stitch three rows, as you can see at the gridding. When I've finished this page I will continue working on Impossible love, just because of the different colours and because it stitches really quickly.

It's the wizard again!

I finished the first vertical row of The wizard of Oz! It has become beautiful, it's nice to see a complete piece of the picture already. I started at the top again, that's page 2 officially. A lot of confetti stitches again, but that's part of the job, it's the reason why this is so beautiful.
