Second row is almost finished!

Hello everybody!

I'm really enjoying to read this blog. Almost every day I check up what's new in here. Such a wonderful progresses you have done.

My own work is moving on quite fast now. I found some motivation to finish my second row. Page 11 is finished finally (it took me really long time) Now I'm working page 12 witch is last page in this row and also smaller than other ones. Few thousand stitches and sky is done (only Kreinik is left now). After that I will celebrate because it has been really frustrating to stitch 6 pages blue sky. And some mountains to do also, but I'm hoping to manage that promptly.
Around 30 % is ready now. Huh.


I haven't touch my Astronomer many weeks now, but that's OK. My priority is finish The Encounter first, so I don't take any pressure about moving on Astronomer.

Hello all! I've been stitching mostly The Encounter last few weeks. But still - there is lots of sky and mountains left. I think it takes couple months to finish second row. It's quite boring to stitch only blue colours so I'm really waiting the time when sky ends and dragon begins:-)

Someone maybe remembers, that this is my first HAED and I started it march 2009 so it seems like it took me half year to finish one row. So my goal is finish second row before march.

Oh - I also have news witch I want to share whit you all. We are expecting a new family member at June - yes I'm pregnant again!

The Encounter and new start

Hello all!

It's been few weeks than I posted last time, mostly because I had couple of weeks when I didn't stitch a§t all. I just could't find any motivation to continue The Encounter. Since then I've done it little and also started new design - The Astronomer as I promised. First it felt wery strange to start a new work - I felt myself like a betrayer:-) You know - I have been working ONLY The encounter since march 2009. But now I think it was good decision, it's nice to do something different for change. Im thinking to consentrate on Astronomer few weks now and then I'm hoping to stitch both of them every week. Only thing what worries me little is ... when will I finish those works now than I have two of them... Probably it takes many years....

Hello all!
I haven't been updating here for long time. Sorry about that. First our camera was broken and then my mother-in-low was in eye-operation, witch didn't went very well, so we lived whit her couple weeks, she don't have computer - I haven't eaven had chance to check out your progresses.

My encounter is progressing slowly. Two pages - and then second row is finished. I must say, that I'm quite bored to stitch those mountains, only blue , blue blue, grey, grey, grey. So I bought new design. Astronomer - yes me too! Haven't started it jet, but I have fabric and threads now -so soon it begin:-)

From now on I update every week agin, so see you soon!

The Encounter Update

Hello my dear friends!

I Haven't updated few weeks, but I have stitched. First row is soon ready. But Our camera is broken and I haven't been able to take fotos. This morning I decide to try transfer picture whit my mobile and send it here - but so far I haven't manage to do that -the file is different - and i'm not sure how to change it! BUT I try to get the picture here soon as possible.

Hi everyone!
My mother have her summer vacation now and she has spent lot of time whit her grandson, so I had lot of my own time this week. And what did I do? I stitched of course! So I'm very satisfied to my work this time. So far I only stitch this one project - no other WIPs - so that means I can consenrate only my HAED and that's why I progerss quite fast.

But sometimes it's quite boring to do allways same WIP. SO - I bought 2 new HAED - Magic Eavning and City of Swords! But - which one I choose to start first? (I don't want to do them both now, two WIPs is enough for me). All opinions are most welcome!

Hello all!

Here is my update. The tower grows slowly. When I get bored all that confetti stitching, I stitch mountains.

I try to update here every week but after our SAL comes weekend - we don't use computer at weekends - it's family time - so my update will allways come some other day. Hope it's ok:-)

Encounter update

Hello all!

It's been three weeks since I posted here last time, mostly because our little puppy. I've just been so so busy whit my two baby's:-) But - I have been stitching. It's going very slow at the moment, because I'm stitching the tower now - there is over 40 colours in it and every stitch is different colour. As you can see, there is hole in sky, I'm out of Kreinik at the moment, that's the reason. Im satisfied to my progress, started this work 22. march and stitching now 6th page, so it makes two page / month.

The Encounter update

Hello!

I haven't time to update last week, but here I am now! I have been stitching some, but not as much as normaly. First because I have done LOT of gardening but allso because I'm really bored to stitch that heaven agin. Large areas same color - not so fun to do actually. But - when I finish that page, I can move on to stitch towers. That would bee something new! Yay!

Our puppy is coming home this saturday! His name is Rudolf , by the way. . So probably I wount be able to stitch so much next couple weeks. But i defenetly participate SAL and of course read all of your great and wonderful updates!

The Encounter update

Hello everybody!

It's beautiful spring here in Finland, so I've done lots of gardening - planting, seeding, etc. Haven't been stitching as much as usually. Yesterday it was raining here, so after our son fell asleep, I stitched 4,5 hours!




I also want to share you something else. I had birthday few weeks ago, and my family gave me best present ever. Puppy!!!!! We went to see him few days ago and took lots of pictures (our puppy is now 4 weeks, so we can get him home after three weeks) Hi's belgian shepherd dog.

Hello everyone!

As you can see, I have finished page 3 and continue to stitch mountains again. That white shining area between sky and mountains is Kreinik. It took me much lesser time this time, because after doing it over 6000 stitches, I learned few tips, witch I want to share whit you, maybe it is useful for someone:-)
1. I stitch Kreinik tent stitches, much faster and I think it looks great (full cross are too thick)
2. I recommend use short thread, long thread farys more easier.
3. Most important, try not to move thread in eye of needle at all. Then thread stays whole.
4.I've also noticed, that if stitches are made vertically (I mean left to right, not up and down), result looks better.

Hope those tips are useful to someone, and you understand my poor English. lol.

The Encounter Update

Hello again!
In Finland, snow is finally gone and spring is here! It isn't very warm yet, but sun is shining and wood anemones are in flower. I'm so happy!

I almost finished page 2 (or actually page 8) and continued to stitch sky again. Hope to finish that sky page this week so I can continue mountains then.
I'm still enjoying this work very much and hope I can stitch as much as it is possible. Of course,after taking care our 8 month son,
all the housekeeping and things to do, time whit my husband etc. there isn't always so much my own time - but when I have it - I just stitch and stitch:-)

I read this blog every day and it makes me smile every time! It so rewarding to watch your works to grow!

The Encounter update 3.

Hello everybody!

I haven't been able to update my progress for allmost two weeks, because our camera was broken, but I read this blog every day (many times:-) and it keeps me going!

I got trough the Kreinik (yay!) and stitching mountains now.
I’ve been working on this quite a lot over the last few days, mostly mountains, which has a lot more colours in it than it looks on the photo (so far over 20) .
the colours look really lovely I think and find it amazing how those blue and grey colours come together to produce a beautiful piece of artwork.
Mountains are slow to stitch - and I'm starting to understand how big project this is going to be (it doesn't scare me at all, I like to do challenging works).

I have been that kind of person who stitch only one project at time until it's done and then start another one, but after I found HAED - I have found so many designs that i fantasize to do. It is VERY hard not to start another design.. lol.

Hello again everyone!
I didn't have time to write here yesterday, so I'm updating now.
I all most finished my first page of Encounter. First page took me 7 days, but it was quick to stitch, and i have been giving all my free time (= when our baby is sleeping:-) to my Encounter, and I'm really enjoining it!
But now it isn't going fast anymore because I use Krenik (and not just few stitches - over 2000 stitches at page 2), and it's very hard and slow to stitch. After i'm done whit the krenik - i'ts time to start stitch those beautiful mountains. Jipii! stitching will then defenetly be more delightful. I think all of us knows, that sky isn’t the most interesting thing to stitch...

I am so happy, that I found this blog - it helps keep me motivated to share my progress whit you and see all your beautidul progress pictures!

First of all - thank you for inviting me and thanks also for this wonderful blog. How beautiful all your works are!
A'm Ingrid from Finland - land of snow and Santa! I'm 25 , married and
i have baby boy, who is 7 month now. Sititching have been my dearest hobby (or lifestyle:-) over ten years.

I found HAED about month ago - and fell love of those beautiful artworks right a way. The Encounter was my first love in HAED -
maby because I have dreamed of stitch some wizard and dragon who are friends for quite some time - and there it was!
After seartching over and over HAED webside I found lots of other pictures I loved - but then I diside to belive my first instinct and
here it is -The Encounter by Ed Beard Jr.

Started 20.march to 25ct lugana evenweave. Can't wait to stitch more!
