My First HAED finished

Hi everyone...
Today I'm a very happy gal :D, for the first time I finished a HAED, and it only took me 69 days of fully dedication to it xD... but now I have plenty of time to frame it before going home to give it to my mum on her birthday :D

It was stitched on 32ct Whimsey Lugana 1x1 and this is how it looks before it is ironed (sorry but I was so happy and I so wanted to share it with you... that I couldn't wait for it to be washed and ironed to take a photo)

QS Reflections 2 - after 54 days stitching

QS Reflections 2 update

Hi everyone,

I'm loving to see all your gorgeous pictures your progress is lovely :) and so I thought it was time to share my progress on QS Reflections, I'm happy to report that if nothing bad happens I'll definitely finish it this month and it will be my 1st HAED finish :)...

QS Reflections 2 - 15days progress

Hi everyone,
So today is the 15th day I spent stitching only QS Reflection 2 and I'm really proud of my progress, I've stitched 9446 stitches of 27750 so more than 1/3 is done and I still have at least 45 days (which I hope I won't need them all to finish). and this is how it's looking:

QS Reflections 2 started and updates on QS Believe and SK Treasures

It's been a long time since I last updated my HAED here, but I can guarantee that I've been busy stitching and here is the proof :)

As you can see I started a new HAED, and if you follow my blog, this new start is my Mistery Project, that I can't share there because it's for my mum and I know she likes to visit my blog. The reason why I'm making it on secret is because my Mum, LOVES angels, and when she came over I showed her QS Reflection 2, she really liked it but didn't ask me to stitch it for her because she thought it would take me a long time to stitch and she wanted me to finish my Christmas projects for my grandmas. So I was initially planning on stitching it next year, but meanwhile I was forced to change my holidays and now I'll be in Portugal visiting my family on the same time that it's my mums birthday and I thought it would be the 2nd best gift to her (being me the 1st eheh)So the deadline for it is mid-October to have time to frame it before leaving on November. It's being stitched on Whimsey Lugana 32ct (it's the first time I use such small count and I'm loving it) 1 x 1. Now enough with the talk and moving to the photos:

How to Carry Threads
This is really easy...it takes a while to get used to though....and your back will look terrible...this you will have to live with...One thing...You will be working your 10 x 10 grids in colums...it makes it easier...
1. Start with a 10 x 10 grid..
2. Find your first symbol...and stitch all of that symbol in your 10 x 10 grid....When finished...
3. Find the same symbol on the 10 x 10 grid below it...take your needle and bring your thread up like you are going to make the first 1/2 of the X ...but don't do it...just unthread your needle and lay the thread down..
4. Go back to the first grid you were working on...and stitch the next symbol the same way....when finished bring your thread down....
5. continue each symbol until your first 10 x 10 grid is finished....
6. start the next 10 x 10 grid ....you should have thread there already for you to pick up and stitch...

Tent stitch variants
There are three types of tent stitch, all producing the same appearance on the front of the canvas but each worked in a slightly different way and having particular characteristics, uses, benefits and drawbacks. These variants of tent stitch are known as basketweave, continental and half cross tent stitches:
Basketweave tent stitch - The basketweave form of tent stitch is worked in diagonal rows up and down the canvas. The yarn on the back of the canvas has a typical basketweave appearance, with alternating horizontal and vertical stitches. Basketweave is the best stitch to use for covering large areas of canvas as it does not distort the canvas as the other two forms of tent stitch do.
Continental tent stitch - Continental stitch is worked horizontally or vertically across the canvas. On the back of the work, the stitches appear diagonally across two threads. This method uses more yarn than half cross stitch tent stitch but is more hardwearing.
Half cross tent stitch - Half cross stitch is worked horizontally or vertically across the canvas. On the back of the work, the stitch appears vertical or horizontal, not diagonal, and crosses only one thread. This method uses less yarn than other stitches but is not very durable as coverage on the back of the canvas is a little thin.
