Cheryl's update: The Waiting (Schim Schimmel) - FINISHED!

After 1 year, 5 months and 10 days, I have completed 'The Waiting'! It's been a lot of work! Of course I don't do cross stitch to finish it, I do it because I love doing cross stitch so I felt a bit deflated after finishing it last night. But this morning I feel good about it. When I first started I never thought I would finish so it's such an achievement for me. I have never completed something so detailed and big before! HAED's are really addictive and I am just waiting for materials to arrive for the next one...

I only have to finish off another page and a bit so my next picture should be the big finish! This has been such a pleasure to stitch and I have so enjoyed reading everyone comments along the way. I have already bought my next HAED chart. I just have to buy the materials and I'll start the journey again!

I have finished the earth in the sky. It was a heap of confetti but it didn't take me as long as I thought it would...I have also completed most of the next page as well. I am about halfway across so I have about 3 pages to go...

I have nearly completed the 1 and a half pages that were left on the second last row of pages. I have run out of one of the colours, a dark grey and you can see the spaces where I need that colour to fill it in. I am waiting until I run out of a couple of more colours before I order more as it is more economical to order 3 than 1.

I still have a few more squares that I can do. But I wanted to update the blog today and it is starting to get dark here and the photos turn out better with some daylight...

I have had a sore back lately and I haven't been able to sit at the computer for long periods like I usually do, so I have been cross stitching for hours every day! I finished another page a couple of day ago, except for an orange colour DMC 722 which I have run out of. I have ordered another one and I am waiting for it to come in the mail.

I have also been working on the next pages as well...there are less than 8 pages to go!

I was going to wait until I finished the next page to update again but it has taken me longer than I expected to complete. I had to do the light purple colour up into the pages above the one I'm doing so it didn't form a line.

I have completed a fair bit of the page though and next update I should have finished it. I really don't like the page I am on for some reason. I ran out of a pinkish colour 3722 so I have ordered that off ebay and I am waiting for that to arrive.

Anyway, I have made good progress so I thought I'd post. :)

Here is another update, I have finished yet another page! Sorry for the poorer quality photos. It's 2am here so the light is not as good. Yes, I have stayed up until 2am to finish the page! This is such a joy to stitch. I have about 12 pages + 3 half pages of the chart to do so there is a way to go yet!
