Long time no blog

I know I know. It's been a while since I posted. I finally picked The Astronomer back up. Here is where I was on Wednesday when I started again.

 And this is where I ended last night. I got most of the top of the cage in. I have about a column and a half to do on this page and then on to page 7. I hope to be on page 7 by next weekend.

Lots and lots of black on the next page. Good thing I picked up several skeins.

The Astronomer Page 5

I actually completed this page earlier this week, but I'm just getting around to posting the picture. There was a bit more confetti on this page so it took a little longer.

I am going to stay with this one for awhile and not rotate to another one. I'm really moving along on this and don't want to interrupt the mojo.

The Astronomer Page 4

I finished page 4 this past weekend. I started page 5 tonight.I don't know if I'll be able to stitch it as fast as the last two pages.

I've been through one skein of black and 3771 already. I think they're right that it may take 15 skeins of black. Thanks for looking.

I just put the last stitches in page 5 of Contemplating the System. I really wanted to finish this page before the end o f the month. So I'm really happy that I could do that today.

The Astronomer

This is where I was when I last worked on The Astronomer, which was in February.This is where I am now. I finished page 2 yesterday. I really like how it is starting to look.
I have a few more days to stitch on it, then I have to rotate to the next piece.

I'm Baaaack

Yes I have been remiss in stitching on my HAEDs. I had to take a break and do some little things. I feel like I have accomplished something and now the BAPs call to me again. June was suppose to be the Fantasies of the Seas month in my rotation, so I pulled it out last weekend and put in about 500 stitches. Here it is.

Now that it's July, I will be pulling out The Astronomer and hopefully put some stitches in that during the three day weekend.

End of this month

Here are the pictures of Fantasies of the Seas before I rotate to my next piece. It was a pretty good month. I finished page 13 and completed 2 columns on page 14. There was a lot of confetti on the new page with 30 to 40 different symbols per block. Here is where I was earlier this month.Here is where I ended.

Fantasies of the Sea

This is my month for Fantasies of the Seas and I finished page 13 last night while watching television. I love this piece more and more as I work on it.

Hopefully, I'll get a few rows done on page 14 before it's time to rotate.

Astronomer Update

This month was The Astronomer in my HAED rotation. I finished about a third of page 2. There is so much confetti in this piece. Here is where I started at the beginning of the month:

Contemplating the System

This is the piece I am working on this month. Here is where I started at on Sunday 3 January.


And this is where I ended yesterday.


I think the only reason I got so much done this week is because I was home sick for two days. I had lots of stitching time. I can hopefully finish this page this weekend. After all the dark colors on Astronomer and Fantasies it is nice to do some bright colors.

My New Year Resolution

I have decided that I am going to rotate my HAEDs by the month. So in the month of December I started row 3 page 13 of Fantasies of the Seas. I almost finished the page. I lack about a column and a half for having the page done. Here is where I am stopping tonight.

I'm switching to Contemplating the System this weekend. I'll see how far I get in a month on that one.

Fantasies of the Seas

Well I went back to Fantasies of the Seas. It's been a while as I started two other HAEDs this year. I started on page 13, the beginning of the 3rd row. I thought I was going to get a break from all the black in the Astronomer. Nope, this page is a lot of DMC 310, 939, and 823. Good grief!Thanks for looking.

I finally finished page 1 of the Astronomer. Finally! Now I have to decide if I want to continue with it or go back to Fantasies of the Sea or Contemplating the System. I really feel like working on something brighter. So maybe back to Fantasies.

Astronomer Update

I haven't been able to stitch on this much for the past two weeks, but I came home early Tuesday from work and stayed home on Wednesday since I wasn't feeling real great. So of course I had to do some stitching to make me feel better right? I am still on page 1 but only have two more columns to finish. Maybe this weekend.

I'm really getting a lot more colors in - finally! Here is last weeks work.

The little open spots are colors I am missing. I need to do a Michaels run this weekend as I am kitting as I go along.

Wow Look

Something else besides black! I finally started putting in some of the other colors. You can't tell, but there is some 3371 in with the black. I picked up 20 more of the colors for the Astronomer, so I will hopefully be filling in a lot of the open areas.

All I Have to Show

Is a lot of black. I think I need to get together some more of the colors to add in. I want to get a good portion of page 1 done before I rotate back to Contemplating and I have no idea when or where in this rotation I'm going to put Fantasies. So much to stitch and so little time!

It's all Sabine's fault!

Yep, she badgered me into starting Astronomer with her. So of course during my LNS's anniversary sale I had to go ahead and buy the fabric. It is 28 ct ivory lugana. The flash washed out the picture somewhat. I started last night and after 2 hours of stitching, in nothing but the cursed black, this is what I have to show. I haven't really kitted it. I decided I would just pull together the floss as I go along. Afterall, what will I need at first besides black?
