Shoot the Moon - Darlene Hamelin

Hello

My name is Darlene and I am attempting my first HAED design, Shoot the Moon by Michele Sayetta.  I am stitching on 25 count Lugana, over one stitch using one strand of floss.  So far I am pleased with my progress and have learn allot about stitching such an complex pattern.   I have been stitching for over twenty years and still enjoy finding challenging patterns.  I have recently had back surgery and have found myself with lots of time to sit and stitch.  I have learn a couple of things about stitch HAED design and I am already searching for my next project.  Question has anyone use two strands of floss on 25 count over one?

Here is my progress so far!!!!!

Hi everyone - my name is Debbie and I live in the UK and this is my first post to Haed. I have been stitching for years but only found HAED a couple of years ago. My current project is marchetti's Tarot of Fools which I started on 18 November 2014. I am currently loving this as it is stitching up really quickly. I am stitching it on 16 count aida in a really light blue. Hopefully with the Christmas break coming up I can really crack on with it.

HAED Shore Line Village

Here is a long overdue update on Shore line.  It took so long because it was sky....  So much sky.... got boring at times, but I kept on..  Here is the result.

The page I just finished:

And the whole piece so far!
I hope the next page does not take this long and is a little more interesting.  I understand the need for the pages and pages of sky,  and love the end result, but really dont like stitching them!
Cant wait to see the next page!

Frogs Kissing Update

Hi all,
It's hard to believe how long it has been since I last updated. The last couple of months have been super hectic. I got my new work visa and achieved my next promotion. Now on Sunday, I leave Malaysia to head to Australia.
During this time, I also finished pages 5 and 6! The first row is finally done :)

I hope that my new location will leave me lots of time for stitching.

Thanks for looking,
Lisa

Progress on A Mothers Kiss A Fathers Touch - Update 11-10-2014

100_9224 - A Mothers Kiss, A Fathers Touch - HAED - Schim Schimmel - and Railroad - 11-10-2014

Progress on A Mothers Kiss A Fathers Touch - HAED - Schim Schimmel.  I am stitching this on 25 Count White Lugana 1 x 1.  I am stitching the back ground which is all black except for Little Stars and Big Stars.

I love stitching on 25 count Lugana 1 x 1.  The material is so soft and so easy to work with.

The Gridding that you see - it is Sulky Metallic Threads in the 8000 Number Range.  You can buy these skeins at Hancocks or JoAnn Fabrics.  I am using Red & Blue for my Gridding.  I have to use Gridding to keep from making a mistake on my HAED Patterns.

Of course my cat - Railroad just has to get into the picture you know...he is such a Camera Hog...LOL...

Thanks for looking....enjoy....

Dreams of Gaudí - Week 227

Sorry, it's been quite a while since I last posted my progress... since then I've finished another page, and right now I'm working on a not-so-confetti-heavy one :))))

Truth Story Keep progress

Hi everyone,

Here's my latest progress on the Truth Story Keep my Sara Butcher. It's starting to get a bit confetti-heavy now which is slowing me down a bit, but I'm pretty happy with the progress I've managed to make over the past month.

Happy stitching!
Heather

The Three Fates

Hi there,

I thought I'd share the latest WIP picture of The Three Fates - Jasmine Becket-Griffith.  Apologies for the photo but it's very dismal and rainy here today so the light isn't great.

I'm moving back across to the left hand side now to complete a little more of that side.  As you can see, I'm a cross country stitcher and just go where the mood takes me!  I really am loving stitching this, although the eyes are quite confetti filled, the rest of it stitches up very easily!

Thanks,

Angie (Miamina on the BB)

Phoenix Golledge

Hello everybody,
I really enjoy watching your processes. It is really a mystery- a clean piece of fabric turns out into a masterpiece.
Here's my update - one and a half of pages are complete. The upper row is ready. Unfortunately I don't have much free time to stitch.
Good luck with your processes.
Tina

Re: HAED buddy

Hi everyone!

As a long-time HAED fan I really love seeing what other people have been stitching on this blog and wanted to share the projects I'm currently working on.

Firstly, the Spring Nouveau Fairy by Selina Fenech:

I've been working on this one for years on and off, but I'm over halfway there now! I'm stitching 2 over 1 on 18 count aida. This is the largest project I've ever taken on, as well as my very first HAED. I can't wait to get it finished!

I've also recently started Truth Story Keep by Sara Butcher

I'm still on the first page at the moment, but it's coming along faster than I thought it would. It's also my first attempt at stitching 1 over 1 on 25 count evenweave. I was worried that I'd find 25 count too small to stitch on but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and the finished effect is really worth it!

Happy stitching everyone!

Heather

Christmas Dreams

Hi everyone, thanks so much Louanne for allowing me to join in as a buddy! I live in Florida and I've been cross-stitching for over 30 years but only a couple weeks ago found HAED! Of course when I saw the beauty of the designs I just had to find out more! Ordered a pattern, loaded up on supplies, and I'm off to the races :-)

I just fell in love with Christmas Dreams by Dona Gelsinger and while I know I'll never finish it by this Christmas, I have hopes for 2015 but we'll see how it goes. Then I found this group and started looking over the work of others here. Amazing! I only hope mine will turn out half as well.

Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated.  I've typically done Dimensions Gold Collection kits in the past, I love the fullness of the designs, but starting an HAED is a whole different challenge! I've never worked on linen before, generally Aida 14 & 18 count, so the 25 count evenweave is definitely different for me. I'd also always just held my work in my hand, but decided for this a roll bar frame would probably be a good investment. The frame I got came with 20" dowels and the fabric is close to twice that in width so I had to do a little folding/rolling on the right side to fit it in the frame. That of course led to some looseness on the area where I was going to be stitching, to resolve this I took a linen dishcloth (I'd bought a bundle of 12 a while back and have only used a couple so had plenty of unused ones in a drawer), cut one in half and rolled it with the bottom to help take up the slack. I'm not sure I'd want to order longer dowels as I typically stitch on the couch while watching TV, anyone have any better suggestions?

I'm doing 1 over 1 on 25ct.

Thanks for letting me share my journey with you!

Frogs Kissing - Sept 15 update

Hello everyone!!

It's been a while since my last update, but the last couple of months have been pretty hectic - vacations and work have kept me busy :)

Anyways, here is my latest update on Frog's Kissing. I finished page 4 last night and have started on page 5. I'm starting to see more colour variations than just white and 3756 (which having gone through more than a skein of each makes me happy)!!

This has been stitched 2 over 1 on 22 ct.

There's still a long way to go (36 pages in total), and I have less than a year to finish it (it's for my cousin's wedding which is going to be Aug 22, 2015)

Tomorrow is a public holiday here which means that it's only a half day at work. I'm hoping to spend my spare time getting a good chunk of page 5 done. It's going to be hard to find time for stitching in the next little while as I was recently transferred, so as soon as my work visa comes through I'll be moving countries again (got to try and fit my life into 4 suitcases again!) :D

Have a great day,
Lisa

Periwinkle by Rachel Anderson

Newest update.  Just completed page 3 & a bit of page 4.  Being stitched on 28ct 1 over 1, full stitch.  I just love this one.  On page 3 was the first time I had any confetti & that was so small didn't even take any time.  Love, love, love the fabric.  Little gold specks dyed with light greens & a yellow.  Pictures can't even show how beautiful this fabric is.  It's just perfect for this beautiful design.
