Kim's Lance and Gwen Update 4/30/11

Once again, thank you to the lovely Susan for posting an update for me.
This is my first ever page finish on a HAED so I'm really quite excited about it, and even more excited about the fact that it does actually look like something, albeit in a very vague way. There's definite wall (with bricks/stones) and you can see the beginning of the window frame, so yeah. I'm generally very chuffed with this.
I'm now going to put this away for a few weeks to work on some other projects because this is my target for the year on this project achieved (I didn't know how long it was going to take me, so I went for a really easy target), but I've got another HAED on the go, so hopefully I will still manage an occassional update on here (via Susan) before I pick this project up again.
Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend - I'm loving seeing everyone's gorgeous (and huge) updates.
Now the details I need to include - Lancelot & Guinevere by Selina Fenech. On 25 count evenweave, 1 over 1 in full crosses.

Dragon Rider for Kim

Hello everyone, once again thank you to the lovely Susan for posting my update for me, she's a very generous lady - she does my updates for me and puts up with my blathering emails as well.
Anyway, this is my first update on Dragon Rider, which I've been working on for a couple of weeks now, and I'm quite proud of how much I've actually managed. I know that my progress is pretty slow compared to some people on here (GIzzimomo springs to mind) but for me, this is a massive amount of stitching in two weeks, achieved by a weekend to myself and a week off work. I know it doesn't look like much yet, but it will do one day, I have confidence, and in the mean time it does feel like it's stitching up quite quickly, mainly becuase there's loads of black which is just fillling in the gaps.
Once again, I love seeing everyone's progress, keep up the beautiful stitching.

Kim's Lance & Gwen update 3-14-11

Hello everyone, thanks again to Susan for kindly posting my latest update.
The brown shmush that will eventually look like a window is actually starting to take shape, which I'm very happy about. There are even a couple of areas of solid stitching now, which is cool, although I'm actually debating carrying for the next page, but I'll see how I feel at the time.
I've actually just started a second HAED (oops, how did that happen?), so I've now got two projects to update on.
Thoroughly enjoying seeing everyones progress

Kim's Lance & Gwen update

Hi everyone, thanks again to Susan for kindly posting for me.
I've actually managed some progress this time, so it almost looks like the arch of the window, well, an arch that I know it going to look like a window, one day, quite probably in the dark and distant future. But as my target for the year was to finish my first page, I'm quite chuffed with my progress thus far. Although my target was hedging my bets in case I didn't enjoy working on it.
Loving everyone's progress, I do like seeing everyone elses work, (although I admit that I do usually feel quite jealous about how much more you've all done)!
Anyway, the details I need to include.

My First Ever Post

Hi Everyone, I'm Kim and my buddy Susan is kindly posting for me, I've promised her that I'm not going to be to much of a hassle because with other projects on the go at once I'm only going to be updating once (twice if I'm really lucky) a month.
This is my first ever HAED and I'm quite excited, but also a little nervous about it. It Lancelot and Guinevere by Selena Fenech, stitched on 25 count evenweave (which is absolutely tiny by the way). I was a little intimidated when I started but I'm really enjoying it now, now that the initial terror has worn off. It's also the first time in a long time that I haven't used gridding so I'm having to really concentrate on my counting. I normally use that funky red twine that I've forgotten the name of, but thought that would be to tight in 25 count, and the fabric pen that I bought was horrible, it wore off in less than 2 hours and left a slight mark so I fell out with it, especially as it was a biro and really difficult to apply, but anyway.
It doesn't look like much yet, but it's the beginning of a window. I always stitch the most boring part first, so that I've got the fun bits to look forward to, weird but true!
Loving my stitching, and all excited about being allowed to post here through the generosity of Susan.
Happy stitching everyone, and I'm loving seeing your progress as well.
Kim x

Kim's Dragonfly Update (Buddy)

Here is my buddy friend Kim's Update.

Dragonfly by Selena Fenech.
Scully 236

Thanks to my buddy for posting my progress!

I started this as part of the new start SAL project last month and here is
my before picture and current progress picture. I am still on page 1 and
working on the background, saving starting her hair until last. I just love
the colours that are being used, which is unusual for me, as I am
predominantly a purple person!
