Here's my 14th Heaven And Earth Designs finish....... QS Terra by Brigid Ashwood for the HAED Bulletin Board Freebie QS Stitch--Long 2011!

Terra - Finished 12th Novmber 2011

Here's the important information reminder.....

HAED's 2011 BB SAL - QS Terra by Brigid Ashwood
Stitched on 28 count Vintage Green Zweigert - Restarted on 22 count Ivory Hardanger
2 over 1 tent stitch - Restart 1 over 1 full cross stitch
Started 3rd January 2011 - Restarted 1st August 2011
Finished 12th November 2011

Sorry about the photo but the peice hasn't been washed and pressed yet (mainly becaue we are waiting for out new iron to arrive!).

The restart on Terra was soooo worth it in the end when you see her finished so I am really glad I did it..... back to Waiting now!

Hi guys,

Here's the page 5 finish on QS Terra and now I'm up to date with the pages I've got which is REALLY annoying seeing as all that's left to come through is a tiny partial page....... GRRRRR!!

So now I have to put her away until the last page comes through and go back to SK Phuan to do Page 2 on him, then to spend some serious time with Faerie Melody!

HAED's BB SAL 2011 - QS Terra (Progress So Far) as of 23.08.2011 by Gizzimomo

Hi Everyone,

I know I haven't posted for a little while but I restarted QS Terra at the beginning of the month and I wanted to share with you how I've got on with her so far as I've just finished Page Four!

Progress So Far

I was originally stitching her on 28ct, 2 over 1 in tent stitch and hated every stitch so despite the fact that I had already stitched the first two pages I decided to start her again using full stitches. So on August 1st I started all over again on 22 ct Ivory Hardanger, 1 over 1 in full stitches..... and I'm SO much happier stitching her now as you can probably see from the progress so far!

I haven't posted in a couple of weeks, I have been working on a couple of things here is my update!

SK Winter Wings,  I really like how you can make her out now!

Golden Promises,  I am close to a page finish with this one!

 

QS Terra Fairy Sprite,  I am working my way through page two.  Her face is really filling out!

Hopefully next week I will have made some more progress on some of these!!!

Hi!  After a small stitching break (went on vacation) I picked up my stitching again.  I started with my QS Terrra Fairy Sprite.  I am still on the first page but hopefully in the near future hope to see a page finish!  Here she is...

HAED’s Terra as of 20th March 2011 (For the BB SAL 2011) by Gizzimomo

Another page on Terra is done so I can put her away for another month or so. I found her much easier to stitch on this time round, I don’t know if it’s because I finally got my head around the tenting or if it’s simply because there is more of her to see now and the colours are now brighter but either way she is now definitely going to get finished and not become a UFO or a restart so that’s a relief I guess.

Well here she is……..

I’m back with Faces Of Faery 141 now for the time being so there will be another update VERY soon!

Updates on Ayanna and BB SAL Terra from Vani

Hi Everyone,  I just finished my first page on Ayanna!  It took so long because I just couldn't bring myself to do all that black!  But I finally did it.  Ayanna is stitched on 22ct Hardanger, 2 over 1 full crosses:

And here is my contribution to the Haed 2011 Sal (same as my buddy) Terra Fairy Sprite, although I am not as fast. She is stitched on 22 ct Hardanger, 2 over 1 full crosses:

HAED BB SAL Terra as of 08.01.2011 and a Re-Start on SK Logan by Gizzimomo

Here's page one of the BB SAL Terra all finished. The tenting looks much better now all the stitches are in, I'm still not 100% on liking the coverage but I'm more happy to carry on with now than I was before. Now I have the long wait until the next page comes through in March (I think)..... 

In the meantime I've restarted Storykeep Logan by Carrie Hawks. This time on 28 count Vintage Lemon Zwiegert, 1 over 1 with full crosses.

QS Terra Fairy Sprite

I too joined the QS freebie SAL on the HAED BB. I chose Terra, stitching her on 32 ct antique white Lugana. She is supposed to be my 1x1 tent experiment (stitching on the left), but it looks thin, the colors seem pale, and I hate the diagonal white lines of the fabric showing through. So I tried 2x1 tent (right stitching), but it is lumpy with twisted threads on many stitches, and it's already so thick on the back it's hard to get the needle through!






I don't know what I am going to do. As she is small, I wanted to try tenting to see if I like the final result. If I have to go back to full crosses, I don't know if I like her enough to put in that much time and work. There are other pieces higher on my to do list.


I'm open to your comments about what you "see" when you look at them.
