Long Awaited Admin Update

I've gone through and deleted all members that have not posted in the last 6 months.  I should let you know that the way blogger handles the Authors is screwy, not in any order, so I may have removed someone that shouldn't have been removed.  If you think I made an error just email me to be reinstated.

The next part of this process is to go through all the buddies (in order) and make them full posting members.  I will be doing that over the next month or so.  If you've requested membership/buddy rights expect to get an email from me (if your name comes up before I run out of slots) informing you that you will be made a posting member and asking what name you would like to use when posting.
 
You will notice I've emptied out the Stitchers/Buddies lists on the right.  I will put it all back as soon as I have the membership completed.  Thanks for your patience, I know this has been a long time in coming.

I'm behind on Buddy Requests

Just a quick note.  You may have noticed that I haven't deleted anybody yet.  I'm overwhelmed with the Bulletin Board, Face Book page, etc.  Also trying to fit a life in there somewhere.  Getting the yard ready for Summer (if Summer ever makes it to the East Coast).   As if all that wasn't enough, my laptop is acting up.  So if you've sent me a request to become a buddy and haven't heard back from me as yet, don't worry.  I'll be getting back to the admin of this blog soon.  I will do a cleanup of posting members, and I will go through the Buddy List in order, I just need more time.

Updating the Membership

Thanks to the few that have responded/commented to my post.
I am going to go through the membership list this weekend.  Anyone that hasn't posted in the last 6 months will be removed.  I will then offer full posting membership to buddies, in order.  This will take some time.  I'll post again when I can update you with more information.

It's Been A Week

Yes, a week since my last Admin post, and I haven't received a single email from any member.  Should I take this to mean that none of them are coming to the blog?  Not even to read the posts?
I am unsure of what to do next.  Do I toss out every full member that hasn't posted or communicated in any way in the last month or so?  Then invite all the buddies to become full, posting members?  It is unfair to the buddies that we have 100 posting members, all slots taken, yet most of them don't even read this blog....

Admin Cleanup

Hello All,
    It's that time again!  We need to do some housework.  There are many members that haven't posted in a long time.  I know life gets in the way, I have my hands full with Admin here, on the BB, and on Face Book.  With so many requests to join, it's unfair to have an enormous list of buddies, while full posting members aren't posting.  With over 100 full members our blog should be very busy.  So the first step of the cleanup is this.  If you haven't posted in a while and are willing to give up your slot as a posting member to a more prolific stitcher, please email me and let me know, do not comment on this post, email me.  We'll see how many slots we can open this way.  I will, of course, let the buddies know that they may move into a full posting slot in the order in which I received their initial requests.  So first into the buddy list will be first into the full member list, and so on.  I'll let you all know where we stand in one week's time and if we need to take more steps in the clean up.

BTW:  Buddies, when you email your post please be sure to add your name to the body of your email!  No one will know who posted what, if you don't.  Also include the title of the chart which you are posting.  Stats would be good as well.  Fabric type & count, floss type, silks, DMC, etc.

Roll Call

Tomorrow starts the year's first New Start SAL, along with the Retired Artists SAL.  So, who here is making a new start?  If you're joining in the SAL with a new start post a link here to your chart (on the HAED site).  We want to see!

I am continuing work on the retired LR chart Goblin Tree.  I'm trying to finish it this year.  So I'll be drooling over your new starts!

Also, just wanted to let you know that I am still working on the Member/Buddy lists.  We have 5 more full member openings available.  I am going through the requests in the order in which they were received.  I email the requestors (in order) and have to wait to hear back from them (or not!) on whether they are still interested in becoming members.  So it's an involved (long) process.

Note to Buddies

Please, please, please, add your name to the body of your email when mailing in a post!  We don't know who posted what, if you don't sign you name.

2012 Freebie SAL Signup

The signup for the 2012 Freebie on the HAED BB has opened, in case you hadn't noticed.   
Be Advised:  The SAL is only for those current board members and no new members will be accepted to the board from now until signup ends.
The reason for this is that these SALs are a reward the board members, and not those who just join for the SALs.

So, if you are a current member get on over to the board and check it out!

Signup runs from 17th November thru to 1 Dec 2011.

Buddy List Updated

Hello from your friendly Admin!
You may notice a few more buddies in the list. I just have a couple of comments to our Buddies that email their posts to the blog. You need to write your name in the body of your post (that you email). Since the blog thinks all emailed posts come from me. So make sure you say who you are in your post, so that people will know to whom they are commenting and what not.
Please don't forget to include the name of the cart, artist, and any stats on your piece. Fabric type, count, color, type of floss (DMC or silk?), etc. People want to know these things. Also, try to post at least once a week, we usually ask for a post on Thursdays, but you may post whenever you can, I know life is busy!

New Way for Buddies to Post

Thanks to Marianela for telling me how to do this.  I am sending this post from my email account.  We have set up an email address where Buddies can send their posts, pictures and all, and it will Publish the emails as Posts immediately.

So Buddies don't have to email their info to a member and wait to have their posts published.  By sending your posts to this email address, they will automatically publish to the blog.  (how great is that!?)  But the email address is secure so I won't post it here.  Buddies start checking your mail as I will be sending out this super secret email address shortly.

Request for Buddies

Hi All!
Your friendly Admin here with a request.
First, I want to thank you all for posting your fantastic work! It's all so stunning! I don't always get the chance to comment, but I do read/keep up with all the posts and I am always just knocked out by all the talented people here.

Next, I'm putting out the call for buddies again. Our membership is full, and we already have many members that have paired up with more than one buddy (thank you to those of you that have a buddy or more than one buddy). If you are a full posting member and you haven't joined up with a buddy yet, would you please consider it? I have current requests, and I would hate to have to turn anyone away. If you're interested in taking on a buddy please email me.

Happy New Year!

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and a very Happy ringing in of the New Year!
I'll be back later with an update for myself, but right now I need to ask for buddies again!

If you are a full posting member and would like to take on a Buddy send me an email with "Buddy" in the subject line.

Being a Buddy means you will be linked with a stitcher. The stitcher will get your email address and send you her pictures and text for a post. You will be responsible to post the info for your buddy. Each full member will have one buddy (unless you want more!). That's it!

I will also keep a running list of the requests in the order they are received and as spots become available buddies can become full posting members.

Admin Update

I just have to say that you all just bowl me over. Not only are you all fantastic stitchers, but you are all so willing to help one another! I put out the call for multilingual buddies, and you answered that call. I've linked up an Italian speaking member with a new Italian buddy. So far I've had responses from members that speak German, Japanese, Spanish, Dutch, and French. You people are wonderful! I am keeping a list of all of you that agreed to be buddies, including the languages that you speak. I'll update my list as I get more requests. So if you've sent me an email volunteering thank you, I have you on my list and when stitchers request membership I'll link you up. I am in no way closing the call for volunteers, I'm jut keeping you updated. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, you are all truly fantastic people!

Update Complete

I think the blog update is done. Please check the links on the right and make sure that your name is linked properly to your blog or web page (if you have one). Look around, and if you find anything out of place, let me know. We still have 3 outstanding invitations, I resent the invites again just this morning. We currently have 64 authors. So I am happy to announce that membership is once again open!

I'd like to thank you all for being so patient with me throughout this process.

One More Cleanup Note

It's going to take me a while to get the side bars all straightened out. Update the HAED Stitchers and the Buddies and such. So don't fret over any of that stuff over there on the side, just yet.....

Clean Up Update

Just wanted to do a quick post to let you know that I have begun to delete authors from the blog. Any email address from which I did not receive a response, or any that responded in the negative has been deleted. If you find anything in error (you think you should still have acces to post and don't), please email me right away.
Now I will begin going through the waiting list and the buddy list to make all authors with full access.

Roll Call Results

Just thought I'd post and give you all an update. I've got a list and I will check it twice.

Not counting myself there are currently 96 people able to post here. I've gotten a total of 58 responses to my email. 48 wish to stay on, and 10 are willing to give up their spot for other stitchers. That leaves 38 people that haven't responded. The way I see it, they give up their spots by default (and in accordance with the wording of my original email). If the list is correct we will have opened up 51 slots! That should be enough to accommodate all of the people on our waiting list!

Just to be sure, I'll post the list of the people that want to stay below. If you are an author here and want to stay, but don't see your name below, you must email me. Here's the list in alphabetical order:

I'm Doing a Roll Call

I've sent out an email to every single member of the blog, except buddies. So if you are a regular member and you haven't received an email from me today then your email addy is incorrect here at the blog, please correct it and send me an email with your updated information.

You may have noticed that we have less traffic then we used to. In the interest of our readers and the many stitchers that are on the waiting list to become members, I'd like to take a roll call.
