O Kitten Tree by Randal Spangler Page 2 completed 6/26/14

This is what this piece will eventually look like (I hope!)  I can't believe I started it nearly 2 years ago and haven't stitched on it for nearly a year.  Definitely is going to be in my rotation more often (Would be easier if I didn't have so many different projects going on at once, but now that I have become a serial starter....) Stitched 1 over 1 on 25 ct lugana.

 I finally completed page two.

Which was so much fun.  Finally began to stitch a bit on the tree!! One kitty angel wing and about 1/3 of the first kitten under her.  It was so hard to stop stitching but another piece was hollering loudly that it needed to join the non HAED SAL so I reluctantly put this one up for now and reminded it to yell more loudly when I am deciding who gets stitched next.

Thanks for looking.

Dancing with the Cat - Sandra Kuck - Page 3 completed 4/23/2014

I can't believe it has been two years since I started stitching this one.  But I think she will show up more often in my rotation now that I have had a "taste" of something besides the background of the stone walls.  I loved stitching the hairbow and the curls.  Been at this for over a month now (with a non HAED and a week long trip where I forgot my mirror and light) but the amount of confetti increased dramatically even though it was still a smaller share of the page than the blocks of color.  Worth every minute of it.

Here is a close up of Page 3

And pages 1-3 so far:

Giraffe Silhouette by Annya Kai update 3/10/14

Been working a lot on one of my non HAEDs but the last two weeks have been busy with this one which is soooooo much fun too stitch, despite it being one of the most confetti full designs I have done. As a reminder, I am tent stitching 2 over 1 on 28ct Lugana white. Pages 1 - 4 (the whole first row) are completed.

This is what it should like like:
This is how far I have gotten.
Page 3 was easy since it is about 1/3 of the tip of the nose in the lower right corner.  Page 4 was even easier since it is 4 columns with no stitching at all.  Despite some weird counting problems in one of the 10 x 10 squares which I never quite figured out but think I did an okay job of fixing or at least hiding,  I am pleased with how it is turning out.  I have several more Annya Kai designs in my stash and I have a feeling there will always be one in my WIP list.

Thanks for looking.

mini Shiver Meow Timbers by Melissa Dawn

I started this about 1 1/2 years ago and it will eventually be a gift for my son.  It is a lot of fun to stitch, especially now that I have more of the kitty's face (Can a fierce pirate be a kitty?) and the beginnings of the skull and crossbones on his wings.  I have finally completed two pages with a little bit on page 3 and a little bit on page 5.  As a cross country stitcher it drives me nuts to have only a few stitches continued on the next page and not stitch them.

This is what it should look like:

Amulet and Emmaline - Lesley Ivory - Update

It hasn't been that long since I posted an update so I'm hoping I remember how to do this.  In between all kinds of crazy things (squirrels chewing holes so they can nest in my chimney and assorted other things) I have stayed warm by stitching on this afghan (Cat Afghan 18 ct Charles Craft Alphabet Afghan, though no alphabet) with either cat (or both cats) on my lap to help me stay warm.  I actually did quite a bit on this one.  Almost all of page 4 and page 5, which is just 3 columns wide.  In terms of stitches its about a full page.
This is a closeup of what I was able to do so far:

This is the whole piece so far:

This is one of the most fun cross stitch designs I have ever done.  Each square of the quilt is like its own little finish and it is hard to put it away, though other pieces and projects start to get very loud.  Now I am off to work on "Burden" which is the Lord of the Rings design that I restarted a year ago.  Trying to catch up to where I had been.

Thanks for looking.

Lesley Ivory - Amulet and Emmeline

I haven't been around much though I've been busy stitching.  Mostly Hardanger patterns though for Christmas gifts (some will be for coasters and some for cards and one birthday gift in there too), but in between I have been busy trying to complete the first row of one of my favorite pieces.  It is being stitched on Charles Craft Alphabet 18ct Afghan Fabric , 2 over 1 and is the centerpiece of a cat themed afghan.  I have been working on this for a little over 2 years.  Because the fabric is pretty heavy (especially with a cat on your lap while your stitching) I tend to only work on it when the weather gets cooler.  I was going to wait till I completed page 4 and the first row, but decided it had been so long since I posted that I would show you how far I have gotten on this one.

This is how far I have gotten

This is what it will look like when finished

Dancing with the Cat update and mini-Feeling Better to date.

I've been working pretty steadily on Dancing with the Cat since my last post, though I don't get near as much stitching time in as I think I should, since I am retired and imagine that my days will be filled with stitching.  I can't blame it on doing too much housework, but can say that family, friends, way too much time on the computer with forums and silly computer games (I've become addicted to Candy Crush saga and a few word games on my iPad) are interfering. Still I managed to complete the top half of page 3 with some overflow stitching on page 4.  When I next pick this up I am pretty sure I will be able to start stitching the lovely bow in the ballerina's hair.  I have enjoyed stitching the rocky background as I love the texture the detail gives it, but I am eager to start on the little girl and some different colors.

Next up is Mini Feeling Better by Maxine Gadd.  This was a RAK I received last year after I had suffered a pretty nasty fall so it is kind of special besides being lots of fun to stitch. I am tent stitching 2 over 1 on 28 ct jobelan or laguna (I am so bad at remembering).  Love the coverage!  Have a Hardanger SAL to catch up with and then some time on this one!  This is where I stopped the last time I was working on it.

An update and a current WIP

I thought I would wait a while to post an update on my Giraffe Silhouette by Kai, but I love it and wanted to share it.  I don't know why I didn't think there would be a lot of confetti, but there is.  Fortunately also some small blocks of color which are a bit of a respite.  This is really a lot of fun to stitch.  This is page 1 and 2 as the first giraffe silhoutte goes down the middle of both pages so I have two pages going at the same time.  I often go over the middle if it is only a few stitches on the next page, but this was pretty constant.  I'm not sure if it will stay where it is in my rotation or show up a bit earlier.  Depends on how loud a giraffe can holler I guess.

This is the piece I am currently working on: Dancing with the Cat by Sandra Kuck .  It will eventually be a gift for my niece, who is now 23 but danced ballet from the age of 3 through high school and has two cats that she adores.  Couldn't imagine a better gift.  It is stitched 1 over 1 full crosses on 25 ct lugana or jobelan.  (I can't ever remember which is which).  Two pages finished and now working on page 3.

I think that everytime I post an update I will also post the current WIP so that I can introduce you to the variety of HAEDs I'm doing.
