Anita H Ritual

Hi all,

I've been sort of MIA around here, read, but haven't posted much.Have looked at everyone's progress, which is amazing, but little boys have kept us very busy the past month. Manage to stitch while they are napping, and have gotten lots done, on a few projects. Here's 2 wks worth of work on Ritual, Linda Ravenscroft, 1 over 1 on 28ct. It's a solo from Silkweavers that on the pc seemed like it would be perfect for her without the background, and so far I am thrilled with it. Green isn't my favorite color, and the thought of stitching all that in the background gave me hives!!

Dark Eyes update 7/24/09

I've been stitching, just not taking pics! Everyone's updates are wonderful, such a talented group, and such varied subjects. Always great to log on and see what has been accomplished. Today I decided to pull out all the Ravenscrofts I have been working on and take pics. I am always with you guys on Thursdays, and almost every other day too. So here is what I worked on this week. Love her face, must get the other half done soon!!

And here is what I was working on last week. Red Witch.

June 16, 09 storykeep progress

I've been sadly mia here, between babysitting and a week in Maine, have managed to check in a see everyone's progress, but not time to reply. All the pics are great, everyone is really chugging along on their pieces. Love seeing how they are progressing. I joined in the BB storykeep sal, working on Rose on Fire and loving her. Really had lots of stitching time this weekend. This one is going to go fast for me. Love how her hair is turning out, can't wait to get to her face.

Ring of Seasons progress

Here's my latest obcession, Ring of Seasons, Meredith Dillman. Started her on March 28, and couldn't put her down. Stitched right up til this past Thurs, so 2 sals worth, even with lots of babysitting. She's a joy to work on, just the right amount of solid blocks of color mixed with confetti, and a little sparklies. Broke myself away for the weekend board sal, but got sidetracked on Lady Autumn and the Green Man, so will stick with that for a while.

I truly wasn't going to start yet another, but once I had the chart, had to pull floss, and add to floss, and gee, had a piece of fabric that would work, and the needle just jumped onto it!!! I have NO willpower.

I've loved watching everyone's work moving forward, and comment when I can. We're watching our grandsons more now, so we're gone from the house 3-4 days a week, and my computer time is suffering. Not my stitching, since there are naps. And the days I don't have to get up early, I'm up til 2 am the night before stitching. Nice and quiet, watching Stargate SG1 videos and stitching away til crosseyed! Love it.

Daydreaming progress March

Been trying for days to find where to post, hope this is it!! Stitched all weekend on Daydreaming, got lots done on page 2. I was so bogged down on page 1, hated all that pale background, and the confetti in the hair was so tedious. But now I have an eye, and it's lovely. Now to try to put the pic in.

Anita H introduction

Well, if I am doing this right, will introduce myself.
I've been on the HAED BB for maybe 4 yrs, stitching HAEDs as long. Fell in love with Linda Ravenscroft and Stephanie Law. I've got way too many wips, so many I refuse to count them!
I'm married to Mike, have one son, Sean, and his lovely wife Jessica. They have 2 wonderful boys, Cameron, 3 1/2 and Brady, 1 the end of March. I retired from nursing last may, was an ER nurse for 32 yrs, and PACU for 9. Now we watch little boys 2-3 days a week, much more fun. I've been stitching for at least 32 yrs, compulsively for about 12. Other designers I like are Lavender and Lace, Mirabilia, Shepherd's Bush, Victoria Sampler, Just Nan. Also love to read, cook, travel. We go to Maine at least once a yr, have been going there for 20 yrs. We took up sea kayaking a few yrs ago, it's great paddling around the Maine coast.
It's been such fun on the BB connecting with other insane stitchers, who plan on working on these humongous projects for the rest of our lives. I love watching everyone's pieces emerge, and sometimes seeing one being stitched makes me take another look at that one. These are truly heirloom works of art.
Looking forward to seeing what everyone has to say.

Stitch well!!
