Afternoon Tea. Page 1 finished.

Hi everyone!
This week end I finished my first page of Afternoon Tea :)
Don't like the border :(((  On the  picture it's more beautiful:
What do you think about it?

This first page looks really nice !! But I agree with you : the border looks more beautiful on the original picture. But I'm sure your stitching will be awesome !

I think the border will look better once you've stitched all of the design. On a corner piece like this one, the border draws a lot more attention to itself than it will on the finished piece. I think it will look fine.

I'm planning to stitch this one, "Ta da" and "Teacup bath" to liven up my livingroom. As the other two don't have borders, I think I'll stitch this one without a border as well. But since I'm currently working on the first row of "Fairy Wishing Well", I think it will be a while before I start my next HAED, so I might change my mind.

Magali, Sarah, Heli, thank you so mush for your comments and advices!!!

Heli, me too, when I started this project I wanted to stitch without this border, but it looked so pretty on the picture... :)

I think you need to trust Michele's charting ! things often don't look 'quiet right' when you have done only a bit of the chart. I have had a couple of 'that can't be right' moments, but when I'd worked a bit more and then stood back to look at it, it was perfect.
I don't think the picture will have the same 'feel' to it if you leave the border off.

Thank's Elizabeth!
It's what I'm doing - trust Michele's charting :)

It's look more settled once there's a bit more border there, I'm sure it will. It always looks a bit odd when you're still on the first page. And it's looking really lovely

I'm doing this one also. I like the border & I agree with every one else that it will look better as more of the picture is stitched.

can you tell me what stitch you are using?

Thank's Ali. I use full cross-stitch, as for all my works.
