Such a Long Time...

...since I've posted, and I've missed you all! Life has gotten in the way. I had major abdominal surgery and all is well now. My son was bitten by a venomous snake which took 2 trips to the ER, 2 hospitalizations totaling 3 weeks, and finally a surgery to save his foot. He is still having many problems with it. And now we have a new puppy!

I really needed to get back to stitching! I have a new start, but that will have to wait. This week I joined the themed SAL (people) on the HAED BB so I pulled out QS Stella. Here she is at the start of the SAL.

With the holidays fast approaching, I hope you all find quiet moments to stitch!

Soulmates Update

The saddest update ever? It might be.
This is Soulmates by Anne Stokes. I started it last year, hard to tell right? I know. Its probably only the fourth time I've pulled this piece out all year. However I did get one of those "cheat" pages done. It was like 1/10 of a real page. So here's the blue blob that will eventually (hopefully) become a lot more interesting as I work through it. :)

The pink still looks a bit off but it looks much better with more of the detail in. I went as far as to check the colour on my DMC Colour Card to make sure it was definitely the right colour as I was that worried about it but it definitely is correct so I have to be rave and trust the chart.... gonna be hard though!

The snow Princess and the Polar Bear finished

Hello,
The adventure is over : I just finished my Snow Princess. Here is the view of the front and the back.
I summarize :
Stitched in 1 ovre 1, on linen everweave 30 count.
It measures 39.5 x 34 cm.
began in late September 2010 and finished November 14, 2011, with abreak of 6 month without stitching.
Thank you for your comments that accompagnied me when I stitching, thank you to Céline for the updates and translation and to Louanne for welcoming me here with you.

I just finished Page 4 of "College of Magical Knowledge" and it looks
amazing. The confetti makes it so hard to stitch but the detail is
absolutely incredible!

I'm stitching this on 25 count antique white Evenweave, 1 over 1.

Cheryl's update: The Lights of Home 2 (Schim Schimmel)

I have worked on The Lights of Home constantly all day yesterday and most of the night as well and I finished what I wanted to do about an hour ago. As you can see I have finished the small page on the right and the page with the second lion on it (except for a few stitches in the lion where I have run out of the DMC colour needed). I have been working on this on and off for the past week but I really put in the effort the last few hours! I have been working Avarice on 25 count Lugana full crosses one over one.

Today I finally finished page 3 in the absence of moving house! As my move has been delayed I got stuck into this.

The facial detail is extraordinary, It just popped out from under my needle. The colour palette is fabulous. I never thought plums and burgundies would make such a difference.

First Rose Finished

First Rose is ready. I started in February with her​​. I have her first rotated with the Medusa. Now I hang it next to Isabella. (also from Christensen) I think they are a good pair together.
Now it's almost December, I first have to finish the Christmas stocking. Only then a new start. It become one of Escher for my oldest son. For my youngest son, I have some in mind to. Let's not getting to far ahead.

Hi guys,

Looks like I've been forgetting to post my Waiting progress here which is odd because I remembered to post everywhere else but never mind!

So since the last post, when I was working on Page Two, I have finished two more pages..... full Page Two and partial Page Three, and incidentally almost halfway through partial Page Four too!

I spent the weekend sorting out some future HAED projects. I'm not going to say too much at the moment but I've decided on a Tiny Treasure for a hand dyed piece of 22 count hardanger and I've also kitted up a new Face Of Faery and a Mini! Exciting stuff! I'm going to try to finish Waiting before starting something new as I want her to go into the reward program in the new year but you can never tell whats going to happen!

Millennium Tree - Page 9 completed 06-Nov-2011

Hi everyone! I am doing a big happy dance today! I finished page 9 last night of my Millennium tree!! Only 27 more pages to go!! (Yikes)

Eindelijk dan de bovenkant van haar hoofd bereikt. Nu nog de achterkant, met het haarlint. Wat steken die ik onderaan teveel heb gemaakt, weghalen. En dan zal het toch dit jaar klaar zijn. Ik kijk er wel naar uit om iets anders te doen.

At last the top of her head reached. Now back with the hair ribbon. Take away some stitches that I've made ​​too much at the bottom. And it will be be ready this year. I look forward to do something else.
