Decisions, Decisions...
Hello, everyone! It's been wonderful seeing all of your lovely WIPs! My name is Sue and I live in northern VA (which is more of a part of the DC/Baltimore area than the rest of VA). I'm a mother of twin elementary school-aged girls and have been stitching for more than 20 years. I did take a few years off from stitching when my girls were first born, but when they were about 18 months old, my husband told me that I had to start stitching again before I lost my mind and I've been an avid stitcher ever since.
I have several HAEDs in progress and will post progress pictures soon. Right now, though, I'm trying to make a decision for a big start that all of you will be a huge help with (I hope!) and inspiration for! Until now, I've admired Kinuko Y Craft and Jo Wall charts from afar. I have one chart from each artist that I want to do, but I'm only going to start one... but which one??
12 Dancing Princesses or Spirit of Flight?
I love the colors of Spirit of Flight and the glitter and magic of 12 Dancing Princesses!
Please help me decide!
- Sue

From another NoVA born and raised person, I can only recommend the 12 Dancing Princesses from the looks. I find the Wall charts daunting, and the other one is beautiful!
I second the 12 Dancing Princess.
I like the spirit of flight. It has lovely colours and I would find it more interesting to do.
My vote 12 dancing princesses. I love the colors!! Good luck with whichever you choose.
If you have several already going, then I would go for the one that is the most different to keep stitching interesting. If you have for example already a HAED in mainly earth colors, I would go for the colored one, and if you have already some colorful going on, then choose the earth tone one.
Both are lovely. It's just what you fancy the most.
Why couldn't you have asked an easy question? lol
They are both rather mystical in nature, with the Spirit of Flight the more colorful of the two, and would probably cause you to be more upbeat in stitching it, while the 12 Dancing Princesses is richer and more mysterious.
If I were you, I'd look at my other projects that I'm currently working on, and choose either of these that is most unlike the others, as far as color intensity and spectrum goes, not subject matter. That way it will give you more variety overall, and it won't seem like you are continually stitching the with the same threads. And you will have more options to stitch, to fit your mood, or the mood you want to be in! lol
Let us know what you decide!
Major sigh. .I hate it when I see either a typo or words out of order after I post a comment and I can't change it! lol Sorry for my extra "the" in my previous post. The Fumble Fingers Faerie struck again.
My vote goes to 12 dancing princess but I truly understand your dilemma! I can't wait to see your pictures of all your HAED progress! Welcome :)
(Even if you choose Spirit of flight, I will be happy :P)
Of the two, I would vote for the Twelve Dancing Princesses.
:) I would pick the 12 princesses ... I love the greens and the mystery to it... the Wall chart is beautiful as well... just what I would do...
good luck :)

While they are both lovely, I would go with 12 princesses. Love the dreamy quality of it.

Hello Sue ! My name is Marie and I live in France. Welcome to the blog !!
I'm a big big fan of Kinuko Craft's artwork. And the 12 Dancing Princesses is beautiful. Nevertheless, I will choose Spirit of Flight. In fact, I love all the colors inside, and I appreciate to look at this movement, it's like a long blast. And you will sure enjoy all the different colors.
I hope that all the comments will help you to decide which one is THE one. But, to finish, I want to tell you that we can give you our vote, but you will have to follow your heart Sue. Only your heart knows the answer of your question.
Have a nice day, and tell us your choice !!
Welcome! Can't wait to see the HAEDs you are working on. As for your new start, Twelve Dancing Princesses is currently on my wishlist so it gets my vote!

Spirit of Flight for me - I love the colours! Welcome to the blog - you will love it here everyone is so welcoming and friendly!

I'd vote for Spirit of Flight. I'm doing Wall's Enchanted Flute so I suppose I'm bound to vote for hers. I hope you enjoy it whichever one you choose.
I sure would start 12 Dancing Princesses, but then I admire Kinuko's work very much. If this is of any help? I doubt it....
Well, as a fellow NoVa (Alexandria) I vote for 12 Dancing Princesses. I love the Kinukos (just bought all the floss for the Winter Rose).
When will we see what else you're working on?
My vote is for Spirit of Flight
Thank you all so much for your comments! 12 Dancing Princesses it will be. Right now I'm in PA for the holiday and my WIPs (save for the one with me) are at home. I'll round them up and post some pictures this week. My favorite one has to be a big red JBG eye!
Hello again Sue !
I was just wondering what "PA" does mean (when you said "I'm in PA for the holidays") ?
Marie,
I believe she's referring to the state of Pennsylvania. Otherwise I don't know either!
Sabine
I love the Dancing Princesses! I'm curious which one you will start now ;)
Dancing princess I like most
I also voted for the 12 dancing princesses, it is so mysterious, I look forward to your start
Welcome Sue!! We're thrilled you have joined our group:)
Both of the designs you're showing are amazing works. Sorry, I like them both too much to choose...lol!
Well - that's easy for me - I'm all about color!!
Welcome Sue... Your 12 dancing Princesses are very much in colour like my Claire's wings and that is a very soothing stitch but then green is my favourite colour... on the other hand I love spirit of flight, all the blues (hint hint hint) and the many things that fly will keep you going just cause you want to see the next bit come to life. why not do them both? (she says as she runs and ducks)
