A Wintery Heirloom - Vickie

It is has been a couple of weeks since I updated progress on my A Wintery Heirloom. I have just been stitching the sky away. I have finished about 5% of this project. It doesn't sound like much but with a project this big...it is nothing to sneeze about. I did recieve a new HAED project in the mail this week titled You make my heart melt. It is a really cute pattern.

A Wintery Heirloom- small finish

However, there is a small downside..I pulled out page 2...there is another tree...so I thought I would stitch the pages in columns...so I pulled out page 7...another tree!!!!! This is what I get for stitching a wintery Country scene.. TREES!!! I am very happy to have finished page 1....only 23 pages to go!!!!

A Wintery Heirloom update

Time for the weekly tree update. I worked on this Friday night and mangaged to get a lot of stitching completed. As you can see, the tree is comeling along nicely. you can also see the trees forming in the background. Those trees I don't stitching...it is nothing but DMC 310/939. However, I am hoping that I should finish the tree by the end of the month. I want to say thank you to everyone who left comments on my last post.

A Wintery Heirloom and Faery Tales

Hi everyone...This week was a busy HAED week. On Thursday I participated in the SAL. I finished page 1 of 40 for Faery Tales. On Friday, I worked on my Wintery Heirloom design. This week is going to be a crazy week at school so I decided to work on A Wintery Heirloom. We have parent-teacher conferences. Wednesday night my friend and I are to see the movie A Haunting in CT. I watched a documentary on it the other day and it scared me to death. I have NO Idea what the movie wil be like...I am sure it will scare me to death too!!!

Wintery Heirloom update

I ususally stitch on my AWH on Friday's without any issues. Since this is spring break, my sister asked me to watch her dog, Lulu the Boston Terrier, and I agreed. I bring Lulu in the house...she and my dogs start sniffing, playing etc. I gather my project, get on my q-snaps, pop in my FAVORITE movie- Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy. I decided that the movie is about 5 hours long so I would stitch for the first 3 hours on my HAED and then work on antoher project.....this started at 5:10 pm. I finally was able to put in 3 hours on my haed at 10:40 that night. The dog's did not get along and I kept having to get up...pause the movie and take care of them. What a night! I was able to put in about 400 stitches. I need to complete about 4600 more before I finish the first page!!!!

A Wintery Heirloom update

I worked on AWH last night and was able to put in about 300 stitches. This tree is nothing but confetti stitches so it makes it a little hard to make much progress. I have about 1.6% finished on this project.....so I am LONG way from being finished!! I am so glad that I was able to explain the hanging threads method easily enough for everyone to understand. Please fill free to email me if you have any questions. I will be happy to help!!!

Friday's A Wintery Heirloom update

I work on my HAED on Friday nights. I worked about 4 hours on it last night and completed around 300 stitches. I have to tell you...I am really tired of this tree! It is nothing but confetti stitches so it is taking a while to stitch it up. I love the colors though.
The last time I posted everyone had comments on my threads hanging down. It really isn't scary, you just need to practice it. it really makes stitching a Haed project very easy. Once you learn to do it, you won't stop...it kinda carries over to all projects. I can post the steps to carrying threads....they are very easy to follow.

Wintery Heirloom update

This is my most current picture of my Wintery Heirloom update. There isn't much to show really. There is only about 200 more stitches in this picture than the last picture. Thank you so much for all the comments on my previous post. The threads are very easy to work with once you get the hang of it. If you haven't tried it ...you should. It is realy easy however, the strings can drive you nuts while you are learning to use the process.

Faery Tales and A Wintery Heirloom

I am Vickie and I am in the process of stitching not one but two HAED projects right now!!! I know..I must be insane. I am currently stitching Faery Tales and A Wintery Heirloom. A Wintery Heirloom is a design I am stitching with my friend Kim from WI. We made a vow to stitch on it at least 3 hours a week on it. I have put in 1900 stitches and have completed 1/4 of page 1. This design is around 24 pages.

Faery tales is in my rotation. I have rotation of 17 projects that I work on at least 4 days then I switch. I am almost finished with the first page. This design is around 34 pages or so. I have a long way to go on it.
As you can see from my stitching that I love to carry my threads and it looks like I have a big mess...but it is the easiest way I have found to stitch huge projects. I can't wait to see what everyone else is working on!!!!
