I know, it's been a long time... but I stitched a lot, you'll see! I'm so happy, I can see the young bear now... And the colors of his shirt are so beautiful.

Thank you so much Heaven and Earth Designs for your great job. I know that your designs will always be a part of my precious stitching time.

All of you girls did a great job on your stitching, keep up the good work!

Goldilocks

Hi everyone!!

I'm back!

I'm sorry, I know it's been so long since my last post... I had to finish the stitching of my mom's birthday, she's 51 today. Also my grand mother got really sick... we think it's Alzheimer, I pray for her as much as I can.

I realised that I missed my HAED in the last 2 months... I'm so addict! My husband and I are still working on our new house and we will celebrate Christmas here. It's the first time that we received our family for Christmas, I'm so excited...

Joyeux Noël à tous, (Merry Christmas everyone)

Goldilocks on 2009-10-04

Bonjour Everyone!
Here are my results of the last two weeks (or three?) work.
Before:
After:

For my part, I'm having a big cold... So I'll return in front of the TV with a nice hot herb tea... My husband and I are listening to the entire Six Feet Under series (again, for the fourth times). If you've never seen that before, you HAVE TO, it's so good!
And you all probably know that it's so good to stitch in front of the TV on a cold autumn night...

Good bye!

Goldilocks on 2009-09-10

Bonjour à vous toutes!

I knoooooowww, it's been a long time since I wrote on this blog but I didn't stitch too much in the last month. We had a beautiful summer time here in Quebec after the rainy month of July...

You can still take a look at my little progress... And for those who care, my right hand is completely healed now.

We'd just paint the bathroom in our new house... A beautiful "Boston Fern" and "Swiss Coffee", wich is white cream... I think that they had a lot of cream in their coffee in Switzerland! :P

So their are my results, Have a nice stitchy week everyone!

Goldilocks on 2009-08-06

Hi girls!

This is the result of the last 3 weeks of stitching... Next time, you'll probably see the entire Goldilocks! Isn't she cuuuute!!!
I was afraid of not posting few days ago!!! I hurted my right hand and I'm right handed... What a nightmare for a stitcher! I tought I had a little bone broken but finally, it's just a little blue and brown for now... I can stitch again, even if my boyfriend told me that it was better to stop for few days... I just CAN'T! I realised that I'm really addicted! Thank you HAED :P

Good bye!
Have a stitchy week!

Goldilocks on 09-07-19

Hi everyone!
This is the result of my last two weeks of cross stitch... I did a lot because I still had a complete week off until I got back to work Monday.
Stitching is so relaxing! To me, it's like a meditation, nothing else matter... It's like reading... I'm a real bookworm!
I finally join these two passions in one item: I bought two books illustrated by Scott Gustafson, my favorite HAED illustrator. I was SO HAPPY!
On my next posts, I can show you other pictures of Goldilocks and of some other Fairy Tales that some of you are stitching right now... Just ask me in your comments and if I have it, I'll show it! But it has to be illustrated by Gustafson...
Good bye!

Goldilocks on 2009-07-05

Hi everyone!

I survived to the moving!

I finally found the camera in a box today so I can send you my progress of the last 4 or 5 weeks... Sorry for the long time since my last post but if you once move in a house in your lifetime, you'll understand me...

And I must tell you girls, if you decided to paint your walls in red, it must take you 4 or 5 painting and 24 hours between each time. So loooong! And it was raining cats and dogs for 5 days here, humidity level was very high inside (and outside of course ;))

But now that (almost) everything is done, I can say that I LOVE our new house and I'm really happy with the red choice for our kitchen.

Enough talking, let me now show you Goldilocks!:

I wish you all a nice stitchy week!

Goldilocks and new hand bag

Hi girls!

I know it's been a long time, but I took a look on the blog every day. I've got a lot of things to do with the preparation for the moving in our new house (it's coming soon, June 23th!!!!!)

This is the result of 3 weeks of stitching, before and after:

You can notice that I've decided to work up to bottom... It' because the design is all the same at the bottom (bed, floor and carpet...)

I don't want to get bored stitching it so working like that give me different colors on every new page.

I also couldn't resist, I want to show you my new hand bag even if it has NOTHING to do with our blog, but it's so BEAUTIFUL!!! Look at it:

So have a nice week everyone and I LOVE all your work, it's so fun to share a passion with people who understand my craziness about stitching ;)

Good bye!!!!

Hi everyone!
I have two weeks of progress to show you!

And I received my gift (THANK YOU!!!!!), 50 threads for Christmas Journey:

I can't wait to start it! I'll probably start this fall, after our moving in the new house and painting and cleaning and so on...
You'll see picture of it, don't worry!
And BRAVO to everyone for your incredible progress! A special Bravo to those who have finished their work! I can't wait to see your new choice of pattern.
Good bye from a sunny Quebec, Canada.

Hi everyone!

After the nice surprise of Friday, I stitched a lot on Goldilocks! I was so excited, I'll start another project (Christmas Journey, I showed the picture on another post) when I'll receive my new threads (Thank you again Wendy and Cindy!)

I decided to start the 6th page because I had enough of dark brown. Papa Bear is going well but I'll stitch him a nice window, he'll see clearer who is sleeping in his bed ;)

We'll have our house for June 24th... Something really funny is that for the last 6 or 8 months, I was always joking with my husband and my family that I wanted a house for my birthday (wich is on June 25th!!!)

It REALLY works for me!
So girls, wish anything for your birthday! :P

Good bye!

Oh and by the way, the post for the June Giveaway is so nice! Good idea to add this picture in it!

Good byyyye!

A really happy girl

2 Weeks of Progress

Hi everyone!

This is the result of two weeks of stitching. I'm proud to introduce you to Papa Bear! It's funny because I made a search on the net, to know how the dad was called in the English version of Goldilocks (Papa ours in french) and I found that you write it in French! We learn everyday...

Before:

After:

Oh and of course, I couldn't resist, I bought a second chart... Christmas Journey, by Yvonne Guilbert. I can't wait to stitch it!

Stitchy week everyone!

Monday, April 6, 2009

Hi everyone!

This is the result of my week's labor. We had a cloudy week end here, so nice time for stitching. It was cold outside, about 3 or 5 celcius degree.

My sister and I tought a lot about our parents... They are in Jamaica right now, under the sun... Lucky they are!!!!

But while I was stitching, I had a nice blueberry candle burning and a great world music playing... This is almost as good as Jamaica isn't it! hihi... Ok, I'm just trying to convinced myself... :P

As I promise last week, this is the back of my work...

Good bye!

I really appreciate all your comments, thank you all!

First page done!

Bonjour tous le monde!

As you can see, I've finished the first page and you'll start to see something most interesting than just brown black beige and brown...

Yes, this is a window! Tadaaaaaaa!

I wanted to show you the back, I promise, but my husband left with the camera this morning, I took my picture yesterday and forgot to take the back...

Next week I'll show you... Or will I? I'm kinding... I'm one of those who think that the back will be hidden by the frame so it doesn't matter (too much ;)) how it looks.

Enjoy your stitching and welcome to all new people!

Goldilocks, page 1 almost done!

Hello everyone!

I stitched a lot this week... I must say that I've started my four days schedule... I'll surely be as addicted to my third day off as I am to stitching...
Ok, I have to wake up with the out loud radio of my husband and his 3 or 4 snoozes.... But I ironically smile and wish him a nice working day while I return to bed ;)
I cooked (nice butternut squash and carrots soup with curry, curcuma and pepper, délicieux!!) had time to relax with my cat and drinking a nice Tchaï tea and OF COURSE, stitching!!!!
We don't have children yet... Probably this day will be completely different in two or three years...
Next week you'll probably see the complete page one... of twenty five :\ If you look carefully at the bottom, we can see the top of an opened window... Can wait to see Goldilocks or one of the three bears!

Threads symbols

This is an anwer to the post of Caroline NC,

You asked "How does everyone keep track of what symbol stands for what color on each page"

It took me some times, but I printed symbols sheets of my pattern (I bought the Internet version but for those who have only the paper version, you can make copies). Then I cut all symbols and put it on my threads supports. I don't have to look on my sheets every time!

I hope it's clear for everyone, not too much mistakes? :P

Goldilocks update

Hi everyone!!!

Here's the result of my week's stitching... I think I'm really addicted to HAED now. That's my first one and I love the experience. I already have a long wish list of new patterns!!

There are the before and after pictures:

Good bye and I really like to see your progress!

Bon point de croix!

I finally began!

Hello everyone!

I couldn't wait for my threads anymore so after a big day at work Friday, I decided to go to the nearest shop to buy 3 colors (More expensive than by Internet, that's why I was waiting...)

It was 6 o'clock, I hadn't eat yet, it was badly snowing /raining outiside (A bad mix for a drive...) I couldn't find the tiny shop between all the big one on the main street. So I stop and made a phone call in a public cabin without a roof (No, I don't have any cell phone yet) and the gentleman explained me the way.

So, I finally had 3 colors, a bad hairday and I've started my Goldilocks yesterday!!!

Look at the result, aren't they the most beautiful brown and black threads you've ever seen? LOL!

I think I'm a bit crazy but I know that you'll understand me ;)

Bon point de croix à toutes!

A new promotion!

Bonjour à toutes!

I'm so happy! I learned yesterday that I got promoted at my job. I had a one year contract but now, I'm a permanent employee of provincial Health and Welfare system! And I'll work 4 days a week instead of 5, a dream for me! Can you imagine, a complete day of stitching lol ;)

I still dont have my threads... waiting.... it's so long... They were shipped today from Utah, it's a long way to Québec :'( But I'm finishing the Cut Thru' Rocket by Bothy Threads, already done the Cut Thru' Castle.

Keep up the good work! Bon point de croix!

Valérie xxxx

Valerie - Goldilocks

Bonjour à toutes!

You can guess that I speak French... I'm from Québec, Canada so I'll do my best with English, excuse my mistakes! With you I'll improve my cross stitch and language skills!
I'll start my first HAED design, I chose the beautiful Goldilocks... and desesperatly waiting for my threads... should be in my mail box by Wednesday! I cross stitch since I'm 14 (now 26) but that's my first real big challenge.
I'll give you news! And of course pictures of my work.
Bon point de croix (Point de croix is the French for cross stitch ;))
