Current date of hopeful, but not very likely completion (and framing)
is Christmas of this year, but we'll see how I do.

One week later on Dragon Knot 2

I've worked only on Dragon Knot 2. I am determined to get it done this year! I am going to continue to work on it till I get bored. Then of course, I have 2 or 3 other HAEDs I can turn to!

I unfortunately didn't get a good picture taken but you can see some of the other colors, yellows, purples, greens, and blues starting to be used.

My plan is to continue to work on this project this week. I'm hoping to get a page done soon! Even if it is one of those 1/4 pages. These stitches are over two pages, so we shall see!

Dragon Knot 2 Update

It has been quite a while since I posted any HAED updates. I am hoping to be posting a lot more as I try to finish up/work on the projects I currently have going on!

This 1st week of 2012 I spent working on Dragon Knot. I have about 6 pages left, 3 of which are more like 1/4 pages. So I hope to finish soon, although I am a slow stitcher!

I last worked on this in April last year, so it's been neglected for quite a long time, but I'm loving working on it again.

I didn't get much stitching done over the break due to family commitments and a wedding, but I've come back to me stitching with a new dedication, so I can probably cope with that, the end justifies the mean!

I know I've been a bad blogger again but things have just been so hectic recently but now things are settling down again I should be able to get back on track!

..... so as you can see the top row of Semiyar is totally finished and I'm chuffed to bits with him. I was worried about page four as there seemed to be a couple of rather random splodges of white next to the neck of the lute but when you look at the total progress shot you can see exactly what they are and they are definately part of the lute itself! He'll be going on haitus for a spell now so I can make a start on QS Lovers for the HAED BB SAL as I need a bit of colour in my life. I may try to finish Phuan afterwards and get him out of the way and off of the WIPocalypse goals but we will see.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Here's my Mini Semiyar update now that I have finished Page 2 and started Page 3. I was worried that the distinct lack of detail in Page 1 would continue throughout as it's been made clear that these Mini charts are the same as the BAP's but with a loss of detail. Saying that Page 2 has made the overall look definitely more detailed and I'm extremely happy with the way that it is turning out.

First Rose Framed

Finally, she's home. The factory, not delivered my first Frame I selected. And I had to pick a new one. This has lasted six weeks. But now she is finally on the wall. Just before Christmas.
I am now working with Three Worlds of MC.Escher. Also fun to do. Quite different. And again on 18 ct aida. For the First Rose was very careful not to miss count. The linnnen worked very different. But it was successful.

Only a few more days till santa comes the kids are so

excited. I am super excited that I reached my stitching

goals this year finishing 2 pages of both Faerie Melody

and Soul searches tryptich.

I'm already thinking about goals four next year.

I'm thinking that a top row finish of both those charts

maybe & there's the sal that I signed up for that I have n

ever done before (I picked bookend kitties) can't wait to

start. I have my material ready and I am waiting for my l

last 11 dmc to arrive ready for a new year start.

I would love to finish that as well as I never have finished

a haed and all the haeds I have are huge...

Then I also want to do a haed on hand dyed material I

have the charts royal wings and I purchased the rose I

ordered material from silkweaver in october I still have

not received it.

This week I only stitch on faerie melody for 3 days but

I was able to finish page 2 and meet my stitching goal

I had plans to continue on for a while into page 3 but most

of where I was stitching was dmc 939 and I some how

misplaced it so I did not get back to it. I have since bought

another one but I've lost my stitching mojo. Probably has

something to do with the tooth ache I have which is driving

me crazy my dentist is away till after christmas so I just

have to wait thank god to pain tablets.

Hi guys,

Here we go..... after a slog well into the early hours of this morning Page One of Mini Semiyar is done! You may think 'Wow that was fast' but keep in mind that I'm working with a Large Format chart here so the pages are significantly smaller than they normally would be.

I'm pleased with how it came out but I am hoping that it will look much better as the other pages come along.

Faerie Melody

Christmas is just around the corner I have been busy

wrapping present and cooking for the kids for there class

party days and then again for my sons birthday.

My stitching time has suffered this week only being able to

stitch for 4 days for a few hours but at least I am

closer to a page finish.

I am pretty sure I am going to meet my goal of 2 pages

of faerie melody.

15 days to finish my goal of 2 pages of faerie melody.

as you can see there is only a small part of the page left

now I am super exicited that I may complete all my goals

The second page seemed to take a lot longer than the first

but I think that is only because I have not been focusing all

Hi everyone! Well I started All Hallows Eve! I am stitching it on 14 count white aida. I am liking this stitch. I didn't realize that it was that big of a pattern, but I like it. My oldest daughter saw this and she really liked it and asked me to stitch it for her. Of course I had to start over on it, because I had the fabric turned the wrong direction. The picture is looking a little washed out as the colours are more vibrant in person. The little cats look so cute and she is looking fabulous. The worry with pink is no longer an issue as it sorted itself out with more time and more detail. I'm so glad that I concentrated on her fully and got her finished so quickly, she was worth every moment and has truly been a complete joy to stitch!

Next up is going to be my mystery Mini HAED. I'll be stitching it on 22 count Dove Grey Hardanger, 1 thread over 1 square as usual and using my usual Sulky Metallic machine embroidery thread for the sparklies and I'm starting it tonight. It'll be my sole focus until after Christmas so I'm hoping to get a fair bit done between now and the New Year and I'm well excited!

The new work, Three Worlds of MC. Escher. There is a koi carp down at the work. This is for my son Ivan. I started last weekend. There is much kreinik 032 in. In the lighter part. Nice to see. I collect all the wires, not so long yet. The glass of the First Rose. This is packed. The glass of Escher will not be so colorful. They are only 16 colors.

6 days this week, not for as long as I would have liked but at

least I had some progress.

Double success! After a forced week off I've sped up a bit, and managed to finish the actual page of both of my wips! Didn't have much to do on the Unicorn, and this was the last really confetti-heavy page, from now on it's back to the blues :) Only 1 full and 6 partial pages left from the 15!

Gaudí didn't go as fast, but still managed to finish it, and on the next page I'm gonna reach the roof again! :) 11 pages finished from the 72.

First up is the update on Waiting now that Page 6 is finished.

Total Progress So Far

The pink worry is now over as it looks so much better now it's clear that it's just shadowing. she has her whole pretty face and I got to put a few green stitches in this page which was a bit weird but look fab! Page 6 was the last full page and the bottom row is all partial so they should speed through with any luck and allow me to start my new Mini design (I would have started already but I need the scroll frame that Waiting is on!). I'm still not telling you what it is and will let you all have a guess once it's started!

On a more down note I went to see my bowel consultant on Wednesday due to some issues that have occurred. I had hoped that they were due to the operation in May and that they'd settle down with time...... but they haven't and now I have to have a further surgery. Not what I wanted to hear but if this one goes well then I shouldn't need any more. So at some point early in 2012 I will be going off grid for a while to have that done and I am so not looking forward to it but the benefits will outweigh the pain and discomfort as this operation will solve three different issues so it should be worth it in the end. Fingers crossed!!

Faerie Melody....

I only managed to find time to stitch on her on 2 days this week

Wow this year is going fast I only have 29 days to finish my goal of 2 pages

of faerie melody.

I'm really struggling to find time to stitch there's just so many things I need

to do it's crazy...

I'm down to half a page and just reached the second tree if I can

stitch the tree this week I should be close to 1/4 of the page left..

The last day of the school year is the 16 dec so I would definately like

a page finish before then as I will have 4 kids bouncing around my house

and stitching becomes a lot harder it's a full job just cleaning up after them..

Such a Long Time...

...since I've posted, and I've missed you all! Life has gotten in the way. I had major abdominal surgery and all is well now. My son was bitten by a venomous snake which took 2 trips to the ER, 2 hospitalizations totaling 3 weeks, and finally a surgery to save his foot. He is still having many problems with it. And now we have a new puppy!

I really needed to get back to stitching! I have a new start, but that will have to wait. This week I joined the themed SAL (people) on the HAED BB so I pulled out QS Stella. Here she is at the start of the SAL.

With the holidays fast approaching, I hope you all find quiet moments to stitch!

Soulmates Update

The saddest update ever? It might be.
This is Soulmates by Anne Stokes. I started it last year, hard to tell right? I know. Its probably only the fourth time I've pulled this piece out all year. However I did get one of those "cheat" pages done. It was like 1/10 of a real page. So here's the blue blob that will eventually (hopefully) become a lot more interesting as I work through it. :)

The pink still looks a bit off but it looks much better with more of the detail in. I went as far as to check the colour on my DMC Colour Card to make sure it was definitely the right colour as I was that worried about it but it definitely is correct so I have to be rave and trust the chart.... gonna be hard though!

The adventure is over : I just finished my Snow Princess. Here is the view of the front and the back.
I summarize :
Stitched in 1 ovre 1, on linen everweave 30 count.
It measures 39.5 x 34 cm.
began in late September 2010 and finished November 14, 2011, with abreak of 6 month without stitching.

I have worked on The Lights of Home constantly all day yesterday and most of the night as well and I finished what I wanted to do about an hour ago. As you can see I have finished the small page on the right and the page with the second lion on it (except for a few stitches in the lion where I have run out of the DMC colour needed). I have been working on this on and off for the past week but I really put in the effort the last few hours! I have been working Avarice on 25 count Lugana full crosses one over one.

Today I finally finished page 3 in the absence of moving house! As my move has been delayed I got stuck into this.

The facial detail is extraordinary, It just popped out from under my needle. The colour palette is fabulous. I never thought plums and burgundies would make such a difference.

First Rose Finished

First Rose is ready. I started in February with her. I have her first rotated with the Medusa. Now I hang it next to Isabella. (also from Christensen) I think they are a good pair together.
Now it's almost December, I first have to finish the Christmas stocking. Only then a new start. It become one of Escher for my oldest son. For my youngest son, I have some in mind to. Let's not getting to far ahead.

Looks like I've been forgetting to post my Waiting progress here which is odd because I remembered to post everywhere else but never mind!

So since the last post, when I was working on Page Two, I have finished two more pages..... full Page Two and partial Page Three, and incidentally almost halfway through partial Page Four too!

I spent the weekend sorting out some future HAED projects. I'm not going to say too much at the moment but I've decided on a Tiny Treasure for a hand dyed piece of 22 count hardanger and I've also kitted up a new Face Of Faery and a Mini! Exciting stuff! I'm going to try to finish Waiting before starting something new as I want her to go into the reward program in the new year but you can never tell whats going to happen!

At last the top of her head reached. Now back with the hair ribbon. Take away some stitches that I've made too much at the bottom. And it will be be ready this year. I look forward to do something else.

Blue Bird - Page 1 finish and Millennium tree update

Hi all!

After a break from my stitching I returned to it last month and wanted to share my updates. I have finished page 1 of Blue bird by J. Wall. This is a large format chart and there are 121 pages of it! Yikes! I am stitching it on 28 ct 1 over 1. Started Aug 2011.

Also I am working away at my Millennium tree. I am stitching it on 20 ct 2 over 1. Here is how I left it last night :D

Morning, Fellow Haed Stitchers.

I have been a "Buddy" for a while now, but somehow my posts didn't go through, so Louanne has told me how to do it directly. I haven't done this before, so I hope it works. And I confess, my stitching time has been on the back burner this year...but I am going to do better in the future so I decided it was time to try this again.

I am currently stitching on two HAEDS. Kuck's Dancing with the Cat, which I have been working on off and on now for a year or so, and Gelsinger's "Be Good for Goodness Sake - Mini", which I hope to finish in time to give to my daughter this year for Christmas.

Hi guys

Here we go with TWO new HAED updates!

First up is the promised page finish on Faerie Melody. Page 10 has seen more of her wing appear, more of the magic melody and the tops of the flower bush in the background. No too exciting but looking great though! Can't wait to fins the butterfly at the bottom of this column!

Progress So Far

I finally had enough of the grubby streak on the fabric and have now given her a bit of a wash on the frame and she's currently drying over the bath. Looks much better now!

I've also done some more work on QS Waiting, not much but a little bit. Mainly some background but there's the start of an eye and you can see the starts of the flowers!

Wow I have really enjoyed ready everybody's post this week as I have not had much time to

stitch I have only made a little progress at least I'm a little closer to another page finish...

congratulations to Sara for your first haed finish its gorgeous

Thanks to everybody that wished my little boy a quick recovery after breaking his arm..

I am hoping that he can return to school next week as he is getting really bored I have to wait

and see what the surgeon said on Monday so I can return to my normal routine as I usually do a

lot of my stitching in the afternoon after I have cleaned the house and done all my other jobs....

I started page 2 and continued on to page 3 a little as page lines are a huge worry for me I'm

about to start the green at the bottom of the page as well as another butterfly which is great

as I'm getting bored of stitching the background I have include a before and after picture I am

hoping to have page 2 finish for my weekly post next week..

I have a few appointments next week I was thinking about taking my stitching with me but its not a very

manageable size at the moment as I am stitching it on a full yard of material at the moment as I am

undecided if I am going to cut it up into 3 pieces of material or stitch it as the pattern it as 3 pictures

Hi everyone...
Today I'm a very happy gal :D, for the first time I finished a HAED, and it only took me 69 days of fully dedication to it xD... but now I have plenty of time to frame it before going home to give it to my mum on her birthday :D

It was stitched on 32ct Whimsey Lugana 1x1 and this is how it looks before it is ironed (sorry but I was so happy and I so wanted to share it with you... that I couldn't wait for it to be washed and ironed to take a photo)

Way Past Due for an Update

Hello Wonderful Stitchers!

It's been a long time since I posted an update, I know. Rest assured that I've been behind the scenes running the blog and keeping up with buddies, etc. I read every post. You guys are awesome. The beautiful work displayed here always amazes me. I want to thank each and every one of you for your contributions. Breathtaking work, all!

I have a couple of wips to show. I have 11 HAEDs started, so it's not easy to keep everything moving along. But that's nothing new to you peeps, you all have so many gorgeous pieces on the go! I'll just share a few of the ones that I have made some progress with this year.

First off there's the QS Freebie for this year, Fragile Heart. I've completed pages 1 - 4. Don't mind the dirt marks! I was stitching on it outside by the pool this Summer, and DH got ashes on her (it was breezy), it will wash out. Stats:

Next up my progress on Goblin Tree. As you know, this is a retired chart from Linda Ravenscroft, so it's worked on every 5th week during the retired artists SAL on the board. Pages 1-14 Complete. Stats:

Fabric: Sugar Maple Fabrics - French Vineyard, 28 ct. Lugana
Stitch: 1 X 1 Full cross Floss: DMC
Start Date: Nov. 2006

Then there's the 2011 Freebie SK SAL piece, Phuan. Stats:

Kreinik Blending Fil. 002HL (I added this)

I also worked a bit on QS Arthur. Stats:

I can't forget to post about Pipsqueak! Stats:

My new start for the year, Catfish. Stats:

Fragile by Kirstin Mills

Last weeks I have been working on Storykeep Fragile, (artwork by Kirstin Mills) and I’ve finished it. It’s my first HAE finish. It’s a very small chart (40 W by 181 H), but on it you can see sixty different colors. It’s stitched on 25 count lugana, one over one.

I go on stitching on Angelic, I hope to show you an update this weekend.

I have had a few ups and downs this week a page finish of faerie melody at the start of the week that I posted

and my youngest son had a accident at school which resulted in a 2 1/2 hour operation and having to have pins inserted which will result in more operations in a few weeks or months.

I have suffered a few sleepless nights and just have not had the energy or time to stitch

I did however get a couple of days in before the accident

so here is an update

Mini Curl Up with a Good Book

This is the first update on Mini Curl up with a Good Book and although there isn't too much to see I thought people may be interested to see the new format in progress. I'm doing this 1 over 1 on 28ct evenweave. I have outlined the edge of the design, which is more or less square, and have placed a pair of scissors in frame to help show scale.

I finished half of the face. It is a spectacular sight. The photo was taken a bit from the bottom, so it seems a little out of proportion. I am satisfied with the face. I hope to have it ready in November so I can go back to the Christmas stocking. And the Medusa is lonely.
It is wonderful autumn weather. The leaves change color nicely. And storms roar around the house. Lovely stitching weather.

Hi everybody

This week I have really struggle to find time to stitch only managing a couple of hours on 4 days, I love this design it is amazing although I have only done a small amount
of stitching the detail is really surprising me you can really make out what is in the picture I have almost finished page 1.

(hoping I'll finish over the weekend if I have time to stitch will add a complete page finish photo when it has been stitched fingers crossed).
